Man Utd defender leaves in loan transfer with hilarious Inbetweeners announcement days after being destroyed by Wrexham | The Sun

MANCHESTER UNITED star Will Fish has rejoined Hibernian on loan.

The deal has been announced using a hilarious Inbetweeners reference.

In the scene, main character Will McKenzie is struggling to turn on the engine of a boat with him and his pals panicking while stranded in the water.

His crush Lauren Harris shouts from dry land to make sure they are OK and asks: "Is that a fish."

A stressed Will screams: "Yes, Lauren, it's a fish."

But Hibs' social media team came up with the clever idea of putting the club's badge over Will's face and their new signings' head on top of his mate Simon Cooper.

They then changed the words to: "Yes, Lauren, it's Will Fish."

Fish has played once for the Man Utd first-team, coming on as a sub in the club's final game of the 2020/21 season versus Wolves.

The 20-year-old has seen chances in pre-season and featured in United's 3-1 loss to Wrexham as well as games versus Lyon and Leeds.

He partnered the experienced Jonny Evans at centre-back, who is training with the club to maintain fitness as he's a free agent.

Fish spent last season with Hibs and is returning to Easter Road.

He made 21 appearances for the Scottish side and nailed down a place in their starting XI last term.

Hibs are set to play in the Conference League this season after finishing in fifth place.

Manager Lee Johnson said: "During his first season with us he showed that he is a player with real quality, and he adds composure and consistency to our back-line.

“Everyone at the club is looking forward to working with Will again and having him around the building."
