Meunier eyed as Palace are linked ton Wan-Bissaka

Manchester United are lining up Thomas Meunier as they prepare to take a £40MILLION LOSS on Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

United right-backs Wan-Bissaka and Diogo Dalot have come under fire for some displays in the past 12 months.

And now, three years after buying him for a whopping £50m, United are reportedly prepared to take a £40m loss to sell Wan-Bissaka back to Crystal Palace.

According to The Telegraph, Palace are willing to take their academy graduate back to Selhurst Park, but will only pay £10m to do so.

Wan-Bissaka was signed with the hopes of developing the attacking side of his game to compliment an already superb tackling ability.

However, the defender has failed to develop appropriately, and has thus lost his place in the United XI.

The Telegraph add United are looking to replace him with one of Borussia Dortmund right-back Meunier or Sergino Dest.

    Knighton explains takeover bid

Michael Knighton claims he's launched is United takeover because the Glazers have "damaged the brand".

He told ITV: "This is not personal against the Glazers, they just always had the wrong model.

“[My consortium?] They are small-time billionaires that I have been speaking to for three to four months now.

"When I was approached by some fan groups, oddly enough, saying 'look, our club is dying on its feet' would you please do something?'

"I made a few phone calls and I've been pulling this consortium together ever since.

"We are not the great Sir Jim Ratcliffe. We do not have those resources. We are not some nation state sovereign fund who has oil revenue of two billion a day.

"The point is: someone had to make a stand. If we can smoke the great Sir Jim out to buy Manchester United my consortium will be punching the air because we've achieved what we want to do.

"We will make the bid with our own consortium but, I'll tell you this, we do not have the resources available to do everything that is needed."

Red Devils linked to Chelsea trio

Manchester United have reportedly sounded out THREE Chelsea fringe players for moves as their desperate search for an attacker continues.

Erik ten Hag is frantically seeking forward reinforcements after walking away from a deal for Marko Arnautovic.

A trio of Chelsea stars are the latest to emerge as potential targets, according to the Evening Standard.

One of those is Callum Hudson-Odoi, who is expected to leave Stamford Bridge on loan before the transfer window slams shut.

Although Newcastle are also keen on borrowing the 21-year-old winger, who will not be allowed to leave Chelsea permanently.

Hudson-Odoi was pulled from an U21s game on Monday as he closes in on a loan switch.

Christian Pulisic is also targeting more first-team action and is ready to listen to offers for his services. The American star favours a loan to Old Trafford over the likes of Newcastle, Juventus and Real Madrid, according to The Athletic.

Another forward who wants out is Hakim Ziyech. Yesterday it was claimed United are ready to launch an official bid for the 29-year-old winger.

Maguire 'could be axed for Liverpool clash'

Erik ten Hag is considering dropping Harry Maguire for Manchester United's clash with Liverpool, reports claim.

The Red Devils skipper has had a start to the season to forget, playing the full 90 minutes in each of his side's two embarrassing defeats.

Former Real Madrid star Raphael Varane has begun the season on the bench but is thought likely to return to the starting XI on Monday night.

He replaced £55million summer signing Lisandro Martinez at half-time during the 4-0 defeat to Brentford last weekend.

But according to the Manchester Evening News, it may be Maguire that drops out against the Reds, rather than 5ft 9in Martinez.

Maguire, 29, was left out of United's 3-1 defeat at Arsenal in April by then-interim boss Ralf Rangnick.

    Knighton confirms takeover bid

Michael Knighton has confirmed a Manchester United takeover plot after holding talks with three billionaires.

And he has also begged Red Devils fan Sir Jim Ratcliffe to join the consortium after the OGC Nice owner’s failed Chelsea bid earlier this year.

Former Red Devils director Knighton is keen to lead a group to replace current United owners, the Glazer family.

The club’s share prices have already jumped 12 per cent since Knighton’s initial announcement last week.

And fans will be eager for a deal to go through after United’s dreadful start under new boss Erik ten Hag.

In a fresh statement on Wednesday, Knighton claims the Glazers have “damaged” United’s brand.

Glazers in 'talks to share minority stake'

United owners the Glazer family are reportedly open to selling a minority stake in the club.

Fans of the club, plus former players like Gary Neville, have been vocal in wanting them to sell up.

Following the mounting pressure they are now considering selling a stake in United, according to Bloomberg.

It's claimed "preliminary discussions" have been held about possibly selling some shares to a new investor.

While talks have taken place on the potential of selling a stake in the club, there is reported to be no guarantee that the Glazers will go ahead with selling some of their shares.

The family are also reportedly not ready to hand over control of United, meaning they will still be the majority owners at Old Trafford.

The position would be similar to the one taken up by Paul McShane last year.

The move for Huddlestone appears to have come out of the blue.

    Dest's Man Utd warning

Barcelona ace and Manchester United target Sergino Dest has been warned his career could be derailed if he moves to Old Trafford.

MLS veteran Herculez Gomez told ESPN Dest would be better off staying at Barca to sit on the bench rather than joining United this summer.

Gomez said: "There is no more toxic situation in all of world football like Manchester United.

"A career derailer if you will for most, no for all. Cristiano Ronaldo has his career derailed at this very moment, what hope does Sergino Dest have.

"I understand you have a centre-back playing your position right now if you're Dest, but listening to Xavi it almost feels like he's leaving the door open [to force his way back in].

"I don't think it's that grim for him at Barcelona compared to what it could be like at Man Utd.

"You may get paid better and you may all of a sudden play, but if things don't go well where do you go from there"
