Videos of football fans cheering La Roja following their victory at the Women’s World Cup in Australia have flooded the internet, and stand in stark contrast to Lionesses fans mourning the loss by the first English team to reach a World Cup final since 1966.
Dozens of Spaniards in Benidorm were seen splashing around in a shared hotel pool moments after victory was claimed.
Fans waved flags and t-shirts in celebration of their victory over their rivals at the English holiday hotspot, and were seen jumping into the pool from the side.

Elsewhere in expat and tourist hotspots, Spanish fans were spotted taunting Brits in a packed-out Marbella Bar.
Teresa Laborde, 55, from Seville, can be seen erupting into a celebratory dance inside the Kinsale bar in the expat haven of La Puerta de la Duquesa, just a few miles west of Marbella, on the Costa del Sol
She told MailOnline: ‘I’m so happy we’ve won, I was s*****ing my pants towards the end and could barely watch the match, this means a lot to us.
‘England played really well and should be proud of themselves.’
Another clip shows one solitary table inside the bar whooping and cheering while one Spanish spectator waves a T-shirt in the air.

Fans at a massive watch party in Madrid were over the moon after seeing their team snatch victory from the jaws of the Lionesses.
Hundreds of fans of all ages were seen jumping in fervent glee as the 113rd minute of the hard-fought game ended.
Meanwhile, English fans up and down the country were left to console each other as the prospect of it coming home well and truly vanished.

But when Carmona drilled home just before the half-hour, the momentum swung Spain’s way and they went on to dominate the rest of the game.

The Lionesses, ultimately sunk by Olga Carmona’s first half strike, were given a lifeline when Mary Earps – who won the Golden Glove award for the tournament’s best goalkeeper – made a terrific penalty save.
Earps made the terrific save to deny Hermoso, before launching into a passionate celebration that sparked cheers from millions of fans watching back home.
But her teammates were unable to find the net themselves up the other end, bringing an unfortunate end to a terrific campaign that has raised the profile of women’s football like no other.
Prime Minister Rishi Sunak posted on X to say everyone was ‘incredibly proud’ of the team despite the loss.
He said: ‘You left absolutely nothing out there Lionesses. It wasn’t to be, but you’ve already secured your legacy as game changers. We are all incredibly proud of you.’
Former England striker Gary Lineker said Spain were the better team in the final but said the Lionesses ‘gave their all’.
He tweeted: ‘Gutted for the Lionesses who gave their all, but congratulations to Spain on winning the World Cup. They were the better team and thoroughly deserved their victory.’
England captain Millie Bright told ITV after the game: ‘It’s hard, but it’s football. It can go either way. They’re a fantastic team.
‘First half wasn’t our best, second half we had chances – we hit the bar. Congrats to them but this is the hard part of football.
‘A lot of emotion (right now) but I’m really proud of the team. To come this far, to play in the World Cup final, not many get to do that.
‘This is not it for us, we’ll bounce back.’
