    Ten Hag calls for togetherness

Manchester United manager Erik Ten Hag understands that it has been a difficult period for the club.

But the Dutchman is hoping that the fans can join him and get behind the owners.

I can only say the owners want to win and we want the fans behind the club. I can understand sometimes but I am not that long in the club to see all the backgrounds, we have to fight together and be unified.

    Time for a stat attack

Manchester United have only secured one win in their last EIGHT appearances against Liverpool and Jurgen Klopp's men could make it a fourth straight win against the Red Devils for the first time since 2002.

However, if the visitors lose or draw, this could be the first time that Liverpool go winless in their opening three league matches since the 2012-2013 campaign.

There's a lot at stake tonight.

    Some early United team news

Manchester United captain Harry Maguire has been dropped from the starting eleven for tonight's huge clash against Liverpool.

The England international has been one of a number of players in the firing line following the Red Devils' poor start to the season.

And Erik Ten Hag has decided to bench him for this game despite reports suggesting that a potential swap deal involving him and Chelsea's Christian Pulisic has been rejected

    On the last dramatic episode

Manchester United thumped Liverpool the last time these two English giants met in a pre-season friendly, but the Red Devils will want to forget what happened during the recent Premier League encounter.

Mo Salah inspired Jurgen Klopp's men to a 4-0 victory at Anfield having not scored in his past six previous matches.

Luis Diaz opened the scoring within the first five minutes before Mo Salah doubled Liverpool's lead 15 minutes later.

United began to put up a fight and looked as if they could pull the game back if they had got the next goal.

However, former Reds winger, Sadio Mane put a dagger in Manchester United hearts when he scored in the 68th minute.

Which was followed up by a late strike by Mo Salah once again to put the cherry on top for a quadruple chasing Liverpool side at the time.

    The current Premier League table

This is why Red Devils fans are not happy and why a lot of them are hoping Sir Jim Ratcliffe takes over the club.

Only West Ham United currently sit below them in the table because of a poorer goal difference but a win for the Red Devils could shockingly lift them above Liverpool.

    There's a lot at stake

Someone who Red Devil fans believe could save their club is Britain's richest man Sir Jim Ratcliffe who is reportedly worth £15 billion.

It has been claimed that the life-long Manchester United fan would jump at the chance to invest in Manchester United which could eventually lead to taking full control.

A spokesperson said: “If the club is for sale, Jim is definitely a potential buyer.

“If something like this was possible, we would be interested in talking with a view to long-term ownership.

“This is not about the money that has been spent or not spent.

"Jim is looking at what can be done now and, knowing how important the club is to the city, it feels like the time is right for a reset."

    Man United's low cancellation fee

Kicking off with the protests, Manchester United have already cancelled their traditional pre-match meet at The Lowry hotel due to safety fears.

Fans are not happy with the ownership of the club and similar to May 2021, supporters have come out in numbers to let the Glazers know how they feel.

Welcome to Manchester United vs Liverpool

Hello SunSport family, I hope everyone is doing well and keeping safe. There's the saying that everybody hates Monday's, but this is not an ordinary Monday as two of the biggest clubs in English history are set to face off once again and fans are cheekily labelling it as a relegation six pointer.

Manchester United who are absolutely desperate for three points in 19th will be rolling out the red carpet for a Liverpool side who have failed to pick up a win in their opening two games – one being against Premier League new boys Fulham.

Erik Ten Hag has got off to the worst possible start to his United career that he could have asked for having suffered a marginal loss to Brighton on the first weekend and then the Dutchman witnessed his team get annihilated by Brentford 4-0.

And to make matters worse, Ten Hag's brand new shiny summer signing of Casemiro is ruled out of tonight's huge encounter due to visa reasons.

Then again, Jurgen Klopp's men have some worries of their own; two points from two games, multiple injuries and an £85 million striker suspended for a headbutt does not look good.

However, a win for either side tonight would be massive and could really kick start the season for both teams despite it being so early on in the season.

But the real question is, will the 237th match between these two giants even go ahead with all of the protests happening at Old Trafford?
