Our Yorkshire Farm fans flood Amanda Owen with support as she reveals brutal impact of drought at Ravenseat | The Sun

The Yorkshire Shepherdess Amanda Owen has taken to social media to share the brutal impact the scorching weather and long-lasting drought has had on some of her animals at Ravenseat Farm.

Amanda, 47, shared a video clip and pictures of her and her children as they busied themselves shearing their flock of sheep, who have been struggling in the hot weather.

Several of the sheep had been left with dirty and itchy fleeces because of the heatwave.

Normally, rain would permeate their wool and help to keep them clean and pain-free.

Wearing her work clothes, which consisted of a pair of black leggings and a white vest top, the star showed off her sheep shearing skills.

She posted a video and a series of photos of her work on the farm.

In the caption, Amanda explained: “There’s only fifteen [that] need clipping.”

She continued: “The fleeces are very dirty due to the heat and humidity over the past month.

“The lack of rain hasn’t rinsed the particles of grit and soil from the wool, making them even more itchy.

“Handled calmly, quietly and carefully. Then they can return to the moor,” she concluded.

The post clearly highlights her hard work on the farm and before long fans flooded the Our Yorkshire Farm star with supportive comments.

One said: “You’re so working hard AMANDA. Lovely.”
