Tottenham on verge of Clement Lenglet loan transfer with just wage issue to iron out with Barcelona | The Sun

TOTTENHAM are finalising a deal to bring in Barcelona defender Clement Lenglet on loan.

The 27-year-old centre-back has been told he does not feature in manager Xavi's plans next season.

And Spurs are keen to snap him up on a season-long loan move as Antonio Conte continues to bolster his squad.

According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, only the minor details of the deal between Barcelona and Spurs are left to sort out.

Lenglet has already agreed personal terms with the Premier League side.

And Mundo Deportivo understand all that is left to negotiate is the player's salary.

Spurs bosses are keen for Barcelona to pay some of Lenglet's wages while he is out on loan.

This is currently a sticking point, but a deal is still expected to get done.

The Frenchman started just seven LaLiga matches last season as Ronald Araujo, Eric Garcia and Gerard Pique were preferred to him at the heart of their back line.

Meanwhile, Conte opted for a centre-back trio of Ben Davies, Eric Dier and Cristian Romero for much of their final run-in at the end of last season.
