West Ham launch Kostic bid
West Ham have launched a bid for Eintracht Frankfurt wing-back Filip Kostic after missing out on David Raum.
Hammers boss David Moyes is keen to improve on Aaron Cresswell at left-back and has identified Kostic as an option.
The Serbian, 29, impressed against West Ham in their Europa League semi-final tie, with the Germans progressing to the final and beating Rangers on penalties.
While Kostic is not a natural full-back, having largely featured as a winger, he has shone at wing-back for Frankfurt and has the potential to play at left-back as well as further forward when needed.
The Hammers could land a good deal too considering the former Stuttgart man has just one year left on his deal with the Bundesliga club.
Moyes had been keen to land Hoffenheim full-back Raum, but the fee demanded was considered too high and reports in Germany suggest RB Leipzig are closing on a deal worth up to £30million.

Lingard's signing's a huge statement
Signing Jesse Lingard shows that Nottingham Forest mean business after being promoted to the Premier League.
That's the view of Forest legend Nigel Jemson who reckons snagging Lingard is a "massive statement."
He said: "It is a massive statement. When you've got a long day at work and you come home to hear that news – it is fantastic.
"It just goes to show that we're not here just to make the numbers up in the Premier League.
"We want to be a force there and the owners back the manager. We're making quite a few signings and I still think there are a couple more (to be made).
“He's (Lingard) playing in the Premier League, arguably the best in the world, and he's going to be playing regularly."

With just one year remaining on his contract, the Spaniard could be available for as little as £6m.

Raphael Varane says Manchester United’s players have never doubted “legend” Cristiano Ronaldo’s value to the team.
Red Devils’ centre-back Varane insists any question marks against the wantaway striker, 37, have come from OUTSIDE the squad.
With Ron missing from United’s tour squad, the France star told BBC Sport: “That debate was outside of the dressing room.
“We know his quality. And we know he’s very famous. So we know a lot of people will speak about the performance of the team and his performance.
“Cristiano is a great competitor. He’s a legend and he always helps the team, so obviously it’s very good to play with him.”

Sampdoria are only prepared to pay Lucas Torreira £15,000 a week to re-sign the midfielder – way below his £65k Arsenal wages.

The 39-cap star has largely struggled in the Prem, spending the last two seasons on loan at Atletico Madrid and Fiorentina respectively.
But La Repubblica say the 26-year-old’s wage demands make a return to Sampdoria virtually “impossible”.
