Bild claims that talks have taken place between them and Kane's camp – but the response has been a firm “no” regarding any potential summer deal.

    Not a Scam

    West Ham launch Kostic bid

West Ham have launched a bid for Eintracht Frankfurt wing-back Filip Kostic after missing out on David Raum.

Hammers boss David Moyes is keen to improve on Aaron Cresswell at left-back and has identified Kostic as an option.

The Serbian, 29, impressed against West Ham in their Europa League semi-final tie, with the Germans progressing to the final and beating Rangers on penalties.

While Kostic is not a natural full-back, having largely featured as a winger, he has shone at wing-back for Frankfurt and has the potential to play at left-back as well as further forward when needed.

The Hammers could land a good deal too considering the former Stuttgart man has just one year left on his deal with the Bundesliga club.

Moyes had been keen to land Hoffenheim full-back Raum, but the fee demanded was considered too high and reports in Germany suggest RB Leipzig are closing on a deal worth up to £30million.

    Lingard's signing's a huge statement

Signing Jesse Lingard shows that Nottingham Forest mean business after being promoted to the Premier League.

That's the view of Forest legend Nigel Jemson who reckons snagging Lingard is a "massive statement."

He said: "It is a massive statement. When you've got a long day at work and you come home to hear that news – it is fantastic.

"It just goes to show that we're not here just to make the numbers up in the Premier League.

"We want to be a force there and the owners back the manager. We're making quite a few signings and I still think there are a couple more (to be made).

“He's (Lingard) playing in the Premier League, arguably the best in the world, and he's going to be playing regularly."

According to I News, the Prem champions have been offered Grimaldo in a cut-price deal.

With just one year remaining on his contract, the Spaniard could be available for as little as £6m.

Arsenal were a potential suitor, although their move for Zinchenko likely ends any possibilities of them moving for another left-back.

    Overnight round-up

Jesse Lingard has joined Nottingham Forest as old club Manchester United, Chelsea and Forest battle to tie up huge transfers.

Free-transfer midfielder Lingard opted for the Premier League newcomers over West Ham – helped by wages of £200,000 a week.

And Jules Kounde could be the next big done deal.

Chelsea have all but completed a £55million swoop for the Sevilla centre-back, although he unexpectedly turned up at his Spanish club's training.

Bayern Munich would reportedly accept £30m for "United and Chelsea target" Benjamin Pavard, who wants to play in central defence rather than right-back.

And Thomas Tuchel's Blues, as well as Arsenal, are said to have contacted Lazio about goalscoring Serbia midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic.

Newcastle could bid for Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

And Man Utd might be prepared to pay up to £60m for Ajax winger Antony.

Finally, it's claimed Everton want Nicolas Pepe on loan.

The Gunners winger has also been linked with West Ham, Leicester and Newcastle.

No pressure on Haal-f price Erling!

Erling Haaland will not feel the pressure at Manchester City — because he only cost half as much as record signing Jack Grealish.

Big things are expected of the £51.4million Norwegian superstar, who could make his debut for the champions against Bayern Munich this weekend.

However, his price tag was dwarfed by the £100m City splashed out for Grealish 12 months ago — and Haaland has been quick to remind his new mate of that.

England ace Grealish said: “Erling has looked good in training and once he reaches full fitness will be unstoppable.

“I can’t wait to play with him and I’m really looking forward to it.

“He actually said to me, ‘I’m only half the price of you so I haven’t got the pressure!’.

“Obviously, it’s always going to be big expectations but nowadays you have to deal with it. I suppose if he misses a chance or whatever then people are always going to have something to say. I’ve had to get used to it myself.”

    Raphael hails 'great competitor' Cristiano

Raphael Varane says Manchester United’s players have never doubted “legend” Cristiano Ronaldo’s value to the team.

Red Devils’ centre-back Varane insists any question marks against the wantaway striker, 37, have come from OUTSIDE the squad.

With Ron missing from United’s tour squad, the France star told BBC Sport: “That debate was outside of the dressing room.

“We know his quality. And we know he’s very famous. So we know a lot of people will speak about the performance of the team and his performance.

“Cristiano is a great competitor. He’s a legend and he always helps the team, so obviously it’s very good to play with him.”

Ron hit 24 goals last season but some critics suggested he’s unsuitable for a pressing game that new boss Erik ten Hag might want to adopt.

‘Erik and Ron heading for new showdown talks’

Erik ten Hag will meet wantaway Manchester United legend Cristiano Ronaldo for crunch talks, reports tonight suggest.

Boss Ten Hag has claimed United could still build their team around Ronald this season.

But it’s claimed the Portugal striker, 37, is prepared to take a 30% pay cut to move on.

Now it’s suggested that Ten Hag will hold a clear-the-air meeting ahead of what’s supposed to be Ron’s second term back at Old Trafford.

Atletico Madrid, former club Real, Chelsea and PSG have reportedly ruled out an approach for the ex-Juventus hero.

And it seems Ronaldo is struggling to find serious offers.

Forest ‘offered Jesse higher pay than Hammers’

Jesse Lingard has agreed a £200,000-a-week deal to join Nottingham Forest on a free transfer.

The ex-Manchester United midfielder has verbally committed to a one-year contract at the City Ground.

Lingard held talks with West Ham but the England star has opted for a move to the Premier League newboys, who offered bigger wages than David Moyes’ Hammers.

It is believed the 29-year-old has already undergone a medical ahead of putting pen to paper with Steve Cooper’s men.

Forest are set to smash their wage structure by signing Lingard with their next highest earner Steve Cook on £35,000-a-week according to Capology.

Lingard left United after more than 20 years of service at Old Trafford, coming through the youth ranks to the first team.

But the 32-capped Three Lions ace fell out of favour with the Red Devils and had a spell on loan with West Ham during the 2020-21 season.

Lingard enjoyed a successful time in east London, scoring nine goals in 16 Prem starts.

Chelsea and Arsenal have contacted Lazio about midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, reports in Italy claim.

Calcio Merca say the London giants admire the Serbia star’s box-to-box style and goal record.

But Calciomercato, suggest the Gunners, in particular, have been put off by the Serie A club’s valuation – of around £60million to £68m.

Milinkovic-Savic netted 11 times for Lazio last term, having joined from Genk in 2015.

Manchester United are set for another transfer blow with Jurrien Timber ‘getting closer’ to signing a new contract with Ajax.

The 21-year-old Dutch international has been heavily linked with a move to the Red Devils this summer as new manager Erik ten Hag sets about raiding his former club.

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, however, the versatile defender and the Dutch giants are closing in on a ‘full agreement’.

Both parties are discussing fresh terms and appear to have held ‘positive’ talks.

Sampdoria keen on old boy Lucas

Sampdoria are only prepared to pay Lucas Torreira £15,000 a week to re-sign the midfielder – way below his £65k Arsenal wages.

That’s the claim this evening as the Serie A club eye the Uruguay star four years after selling him to the Gunners.

The 39-cap star has largely struggled in the Prem, spending the last two seasons on loan at Atletico Madrid and Fiorentina respectively.

But La Repubblica say the 26-year-old’s wage demands make a return to Sampdoria virtually “impossible”.
