Jack Lisowski 2-1 Noppon Saengkham

Lisowski opens the pack with a powerful surge into the bunch off the blue. Now, a crucial shot – there’s a choice of two reds, but can he get on a colour off either? Yes! That’s beautifully done, rerouting up to the blue with neither black nor pink available.

Jack Lisowski 2-1 Noppon Saengkham

These two must have pressing plans this afternoon – another red is left in potting position after Lisowski’s break off.

Saengkham plays it at speed, but that’s slightly wild, the red spinning away after slamming into the outside of the jaws. Lisowski pots red then pink.

We’ve barely had a safety so far – three frames over and done with in short order as two shot-makers show their range. A break of 50 secures Jack Lisowski the frame.

The table taketh away and the table giveth – now a moment of fortune for Lisowski! A red to the corner rattles the jaws and stays out, but tiptoes along the bottom cushion and drops on the opposite side. That should enable the Englishman to re-take the lead…

Jack Lisowski 1-1 Noppon Saengkham

Biff! Jack Lisowski goes thumping into the pink after potting the blue with his break up to 30, and you have to say that is rather unlucky – the reds spread beautifully but for one, which nestles next to the white and cut off all opportunities of continuing.

Over on the other table, Gary Wilson has nudged in front with a break of 61 helping him to the opening frame with Elliot Slessor unable to score.

Noppon Saengkham gets first go at building a break in the third frame of the match on table one, but gets over-eager to open the reds, and it goes awry.

Two people have been arrested after Just Stop Oil protesters disrupted the evening session of the World Snooker Championship in Sheffield.

A man wearing a “Just Stop Oil” T-shirt interrupted the match between Robert Milkins and Joe Perry at the Crucible Theatre by jumping onto one of the tables and tipping out orange powder.

A woman was prevented from executing a similar stunt on the other table by the referee Olivier Marteel.

Jack Lisowski 1-1 Noppon Saengkham

Frame ball scurries into the left corner with the break at 58, Saengkham working up to baulk with a long yellow. Ah – an error! The pink to the middle is a toughie and Saengkham can’t help but snick the black as he tries to reach it, but Lisowski is content to stay in his seat needing several snookers. One apiece!

Jack Lisowski 1-0 Noppon Saengkham

Saengkham leaves himself a tricky red after being short of left-hand side to create an angle on the blue, but able to navigate back into perfect position as it rattles home. Up into the 30s as he looks to make a frame-winning contribution.

But Saengkham soon makes an error, with no obvious route to the colour off his second red, forcing a safety. It’s a slightly loose one, and Lisowski has an angle to the middle, but can’t quite make it drop.

Saengkham is soon back amongst the balls.
