WWE forced to stop match early after Sonya Deville suffers injury during live supershow as medics rush to help star | The Sun

WWE were forced to call off a match after wrestling superstar Sonya Deville suffered an injury.

The 29-year-old and fellow SmackDown performer Liv Morgan were challenging Women’s champ Charlotte Flair in a triple threat bout on Sunday.

The clash was held at a WWE house show at the Pensacola Bay Center in Florida.

However, it came to a halt when Deville was seemingly hurt as medics raced onto the scene before she was assisted to the back.

This incident comes just over a week after Deville revealed a gruesome gash across the top of her eye suffered at the Royal Rumble.

And she has now taken to social media to show that she now needed SEVEN MORE stitches to her other eye after this latest blow.

Deville, who previously revealed she “loved” being the first openly lesbian wrestler in WWE, entered the Rumble at number 27.

She managed to survive until she was eventually eliminated by Asuka, who hit her with a vicious kick to the head before Rhea Ripley went on to win.

The grappler, real name Daria Rae Berenato, started out as a participant in the reality competition show Tough Enough, where she was eliminated but still inked a deal with WWE along with former tag team partner Mandy Rose.

Sonya debuted on the main roster in 2017 as a part of Absolution and later became Fire and Desire with Mandy Rose before the pair went their separate ways.
