BBC Breakfast was in a bit of a shakeup on Saturday morning (April 8) when Naga Munchetty was missing from her usual hosting duties and replaced.

With her usual partner in crime Charlie Stayt still hosting, he was instead joined by Nina Warhurst for the Saturday edition of the morning show.

Nor Naga or Nina had addressed Naga's absence on social media or on the programme itself.

But ahead of sitting on the red sofa for her hosting duties, Nina took to Twitter where she notified fans of her breakfast stint without mentioning that Naga would be missing.

Sharing some snaps of today's papers, Nina wrote: "[waving hand emoji] from Salford," before rounding up what was coming up on the show.

She added: "The latest on escalating tensions in Israel & West Bank. Tributes continue to S Club’s Paul Cattermole.

"We look ahead to the Junior Drs strike. Looking forward to meeting Aston, 10 – he’s autistic & has written a guide to the solar system."

One fan was clearly overjoyed that Nina was at the helm of the show, with them tweeting her: "Always enjoy it when you're presenting, so cheerful and obviously very intelligent.

"You also look fantastic this morning."

While a second viewer sweetly added: "Morning Nina. Looking beautiful as ever xx."

And a third person penned: "Lovely to see you this morning," while a fourth wrote: "And Charlie’s looking smart as always."

Charlie usually heads up BBC Breakfast with Naga by his side on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, with Jon Kay and Sally Nugent at the helm on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

Sunday mornings see a mix of different hosts, while stand-in presenters step up if a regular weekday or Saturday host is sick or on annual leave or holiday.

The reason behind Naga's Saturday morning absence from the famous red sofa is unknown, but could be because of the Easter Bank Holiday Weekend.

BBC Breakfast airs everyday from 6am on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
