BBC Breakfast star Louise Minchin issued an apology to The One Show viewers as she appeared as a guest on the magazine show.

Alex Jones and Roman Kemp were on presenting duty on Thursday (July 28) evening.

The duo welcomed Louise, 54, onto famous green sofa to discuss why she's taking on extreme challenges.

The TV presenter has taken on some frightening tasks for her new book Fearless: Adventures with Extraordinary Women.

Speaking about the challenges, Louise said: "I was looked after by these incredible women.

"There were some things I definitely had to train for.

"Freediving under ice is really dangerous, you don't do it alone. I am a qualified freediver.

"The first one I ever did out of a pool was actually under ice, which is about a metre thick, in the dark."

Presenter Alex asked: "So if you need to pop up you can't"

Louise continued: "There's no popping up."

Co-host Roman added: 'It's freaking me out a bit".

Louise later halted their chat to issue an apology to viewers.

"I'm sorry if i'm making you feel nervous at home. It should come with a warning," the former I'm a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! contestant said.

She continued: "You get squashed up to the ice and you rally on your own breath to get you the 15 metres to the end."

Louise later went on to reveal that she's enjoying her lie-ins after leaving BBC Breakfast in September 2021.

She said: "I've had a lot of sleep in the last two years.

"I wake up incredibly late and I loved working on Breakfast but I also love sleeping a lot."

One adventure saw Louise swim to Alcatraz, a small island off San Francisco, notorious for its infamous prison.

The One Show airs weeknights on BBC One and BBC iPlayer at 7pm
