Big Brother fans were left utterly gobsmacked after they learnt housemate Jordan’s ‘real age’ on the ITV show.

During Thursday’s visit (October 12) to the famous house, fans caught up with the residents as they adjusted to life in the luxury home. At the start of the show, producers decided to wake the residents up early to celebrate the lawyer’s birthday with a bang.

Housemates were woken up to the hit 1980 song Happy Birthday by Stevie Wonder with the volume cranked up, much to their disappointment. But the Scunthorpe native couldn’t help but smile as he celebrated his big day surrounded by his housemates.

However, viewers tuning in at home were shocked to learn the star’s real age when he revealed how old he was in the Diary Room. Speaking to producers, Jordan confirmed that he had turned 26, joking: “I’m 26 today – heading on 56.”

The revelation completely shocked viewers who wasted no time in flooding to the social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, to share their thoughts online. One user penned: "Nahhh I thought Jordan was in his 40's" as another echoed: "No way is Jordan only 26!!"

The news comes after the lawyer was promoted to Fire Warden as part of this week's shopping task by Big Bros Ltd. Jordan was tasked with ushering all the housemates out of the property to the garden during the two-day long task.

His new role forced the star to sleep in his task uniform in case of a fire drill in the night. At first, Jordan believed he had avoided an early fire drill, but after voicing his reassurance producers called an impromptu fire drill minutes later.

Everyone was forced to throw on the first clothes they touched and run out of the building and assemble into a pentagram facing outwards. It was then Jordan's responsibility to read out the register and make sure each resident was accounted for.

After completing the task, Jordan grumbled: "Well this birthday has got off to a good start" as the housemates slowly retreated back to the bedroom. Later on in the show, the group were informed that they only failed two of the six tasks assigned by Big Brother which awarded them £500 to spend on their weekly shop.

It's fair to say the squabble for the food shop didn't go smoothly as housemates shouted over one another to make sure they got their requests in. Luckily, everyone managed to get at least one thing they asked for with their grand total coming to £499.73.

Although Jordan wasn't allowed to enjoy a slice of birthday cake on his big day, his fellow housemates made sure to wish him a happy birthday throughout the day after complaining that his day had been "awful".

Big Brother airs on weekdays on ITV2 from 9pm or stream it live on ITVX.
