Noughties pop legends reveal new album and music eight months after reuniting for tour | The Sun

MUSIC fans will be thrilled to hear one of the noughties' biggest pop bands has been busy recording new songs.

The group only reunited earlier this year and they're already back in the studio and laying down a string of brand new tracks.

Busted spoke to The Sun Online at this year's Capital FM's Jingle Bell Ball and said their tunes are real "bangers".

The lads – Matt Willis, Charlie Simpson and James Bourne – also confirmed the date their new album will be released.

"We’ve been in the studio this week writing new stuff," Charlie said.

Matt added: "We're writing all the time in the moment. And it kind of feels really good."

When asked whether the new songs will have a usual 'Busted sound' to them, Matt admitted: "I mean, I think it's different.

"You know, we don't really have any kind of strict guidelines and so we're just writing what we think is fun and exciting and cool. And if other people like it then great."

Charlie chipped in: "They're bangers!"

Looking at his bandmate, Matt agreed: "They are bangers aren’t they? I don't want to jinx it but they're really, really good."

90s R&B legends announce they’re returning to the UK for comeback arena tour

Next month, on January 5, Busted will be releasing a live album that was recorded during their Greatest Hits UK & Ireland Arena Tour.

The tour came after Matt, Charlie and James confirmed they were getting back together in March this year.

The lads exclusively announced to The Sun that they were reuniting to celebrate the 20th anniversary of their number 1 hit You Said No.

They have since embarked on the huge sellout tour and have scheduled extra dates from May to August 2024 for more gigs.

James told The Sun at the time of their reunion: “It’s out of this world that we get to do this and we couldn’t be more excited about it. It’s going to be wicked.”

When asked if he could ever imagine a comeback when he quit the group 18 years ago, Charlie admitted: “No. On that day I didn’t. I’m glad that we split up at the time because it allowed us to do this and come back together.”

Matt continued: “People have asked me, ‘Do you regret splitting up?’ And I don’t. It was s**t towards the end of Busted.

“It was a really bad vibe in the camp and it felt like the right time to stop that.

“Now it feels like how it’s meant to feel. It’s like the very beginning again. Right now it feels like it’s barely even begun.”
