Big Brother’s original host Davina speaks out on reboot and fans say same thing

Davina McCall has spoken out on the Big Brother reboot as she tuned in to watch it.

The iconic show made its epic return to ITV screens on Sunday evening (October 8). Fronted by AJ Odudu and Will Best, the programmed welcomed a brand new batch of housemates moving into the famous house.

The OG version of the show was hosted by Davina from its launch in 2000 up until 2010. Brian Dowling and Emma Willis then took on the role of host – before the programme was dropped in 2018.

But five years later, and the social experiment is back with a brand new pair of presenters. And it seems the show’s former host Davina was one of the many tuning in and watching it.

On Sunday evening (October 8) Davina took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to share her thoughts on the show – and she didn’t hold back. She wrote: “How's it going ? I've got horrific fomo.”

It seems fans were missing the original presenter and replied to Davina’s tweet to reminisce about the old series. One follower quipped: “Like a school reunion but your favourite teacher isn't there.”

Another added: “We NEED you back. Nothing will ever live up to your big brother days Davina!” A third said: “It is great but we miss you presenting.”

Someone else chimed in and proclaimed: “Davina please come back next year to do it, there’s soo much more that we need.” A fifth gushed: “Missing you on it @ThisisDavina Miss the good days but happy to see it back on tv!”

It comes after fans have already declared the winner of Big Brother – despite it only starting on Sunday (October 8). Hosts AJ and Will welcomed mum from Luton Trish onto the show, before making her way into the snazzy pad.

During her video introduction, Trish described herself as a feminist and proclaimed: “I hate the tories.” That comment went down a storm with viewers watching the show at home.

Rushing over to X, formerly known as Twitter, many branded Trish as their winner. One said: “I hate the tories!’ Trish for the win. Job done.”

Another added: “I HATE THE TORIES??? Queen. Trish to win.” A third quipped: “Trish hates the Tories? Trish needs to win.”
