Britney Spears shares cryptic post as she swipes at sister’s I’m A Celebrity stint

It's no secret that Britney Spears has a tricky relationship with her younger sister Jamie Lynn Spears, but fans were quick to spot what they believe was a subtle swipe from the former popstar regarding her sibling's upcoming jungle stint.

Taking to Instagram, Britney, 41, shared a cryptic post just minutes after the news broke to the world that her sister would be heading to the Australian jungle for the newest series of ITV's I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here.

She posted a quote, originally said by Ernest Hemingway, which said: "All things truly wicked start from innocence," followed by a pink flower emoji.

Although Britney didn't follow-up with anything further, speculative fans were soon on the case, presuming that the message clearly had something to do with her sister's new upcoming adventure.

One follower wrote: "Hi Brittany I hope you enjoy Jamie Lynn suffering on I’m A Celeb I’ll definitely be putting my votes on her to do EVERY bush tucker trail," with another adding: "Your sister for example!! She’s about to go in the Jungle and us Brits are RUTHLESS.. we’ve got your back hun."

Viewers of the hit ITV show hosted by Ant and Dec, which starts again this Sunday, can vote for campmates to take part in Bushtucker Trials – a series of gory and gruesome jungle tasks – and fans of Britney are expected to target Jamie Lynn, 32.

The sisters share a nearly 10 year age gap, but once upon a time, they were incredibly close with the younger sibling spending a lot of her childhood touring with her big sister and the rest of the family. Their sisterly love was tested in recent years when Jamie Lynn became a partial trustee of Britney's estate during her conservatorship.

This meant that Jamie Lynn had some degree of control over the singer's assets, although Britney has never commented on this.

Jamie also appeared to criticise the #FreeBritey movement created by loyal fans of the popstar during her conservatorship days, but then shared a photo of her protecting her big sister from the paparazzi shortly after Britney was checked into a mental health facility.

At the time, Jamie Lynn captioned the photos. and said: "10 years ago, who was there?? I have been here long before anyone else and I’ll be here long after. I love my sister with everything I have. So anyone or anything that speaks to the contrary can GTFOH with all the comments about what you don’t understand."

Jamie Lynn will join a whole host of celebrities ready to take on the jungle this weekend. Stars including JLS's Marvin Humes, This Morning's Josie Gibson and Hollyoaks star Nick Pickard are just a few of the famous faces who will be Jamie Lynn's campmates for up to four weeks.
