Channel 4 scraps legendary reality series – just one year after it returns to screens for reboot | The Sun

CHANNEL 4 has scrapped a legendary reality series – just one year after it returned to screens for a reboot.

The network has shelved the show – which has won two BAFTAs in its lifetime – despite only bringing it back to screens in 2022.

Embarrassing Bodies first aired from 2007 to 2015 and saw members of the public visit the show's medical experts for advice about a bodily issue that they had kept secret.

The original team of experts consisted of Dr Christian Jessen, Dr Dawn Harper and Dr Pixie McKenna.

However, they were replaced for the 2022 reboot, which was fronted by Dr Jane Leonard, Dr Anand Patel and Dr Tosin Ajayi-Sotubo.

The format was also changed slightly, with the doctors dealing with major health and sexual health issues, with the help of well-known celebrity voices.

Confirming the show's cancellation to TV Zone, a spokesperson for Channel 4 said: "Channel 4, like all broadcasters, makes decisions in the natural cycle of programming about which shows to rest, return or conclude to ensure we always innovate and offer viewers the best range of content.

"There are currently no immediate plans for Embarrassing Bodies to return to linear TV next year."

At the time of the reboot, Dr Jane spoke to The Sun's TV Mag about her experience on the programme.

She said: "I think the main thing that really resonated or sort of surprised me is how long people put up with things and how it can really affect people.
