We knew from the moment they arrived back on Albert Square that Cindy Beale (Michelle Collins) would have Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt) wrapped around her little finger, and recent EastEnders scenes have proved us right.
Reeling from her rejection by daughters Anna and Gina Knight (Molly Rainford and Francesca Henry) after suddenly reappearing in their lives, Cindy turned to Ian for support.
He assured her that they will soon see how much Cindy cares and want to get to know her again, but Cindy believed she would have to find a way of proving to them that she was here to stay.
With George and Elaine (Colin Salmon and Harriet Thorpe) running the Queen Vic, Cindy decided that she needed something even better to impress them, and to prove that she was laying down roots in Walford.
She suggested a pub or restaurant of their own, and made Ian promise that he would find a way to make it happen.

Ian instantly put on his entrepreneurial hat and began searching for businesses he could redevelop, informing son Peter (Thomas Law) that they wouldn’t be in this mess if Kathy Beale (Gillian Taylforth) hadn’t sold his restaurant.
Peter was quick to point out that he was doing a very good job of trying to reconnect Cindy with her family, but that he had lost sight of reconciling with his own family in the process.
With Peter’s encouragement, Ian headed over to the café in a bid to build bridges.
Though Rocky Cotton (Brian Conley) refused to excuse his behaviour, Kathy soon forgave him.
It was Ian’s choice to make amends that led to his next dangerous move, that he could come to regret.
While sitting in the café, Ian spotted Nish Panesar (Navin Chowdhry), local business tycoon and all round unpleasant human being, and decided that it was time to network.
Introducing himself as a fellow entrepreneur, Ian explained that he was planning on expanding his business empire and wished to have him and wife Suki (Balvinder Sopal) over for a business lunch.
Is Ian playing with fire by getting involved with Nish, or will everything work out in his favour?
