Corrie star Catherine Tydesley shows off two and a half stone weight loss after 'dreadful' battle with body post-birth | The Sun

CORONATION Street star and mum-of-two Catherine Tyldesley has opened up on her weight loss after a ‘dreadful’ post-birth battle.

The 39-year-old actress is mum to son Alfie, who she welcomed in 2015, and her daughter Iris, who was born last year.

Posting a new snap in the mirror, Catherine showed off her very toned body in a black crop top and leggings with her hair swept back,

Catherine explained that this time last year she was two and a half stone heavier, and detailed the health battle she’s experienced.

She wrote: “She’s back!!!!! This time last year I was 2.5 stones heavier. I’d given birth a few weeks ago and didn’t recognise myself anymore.

“I suffered with hyperemesis and hormonal insomnia throughout my pregnancy. Which meant I averaged around 2 hours sleep a night for 6 months. We tried everything to help me sleep/feel better and nothing worked. I felt Dreadful.

“Whilst I was pregnant with Alfie I felt great and was weight training till I was 8 months pregnant. I felt strong and recovery was so fast. With Iris I felt so weak and vulnerable.

“Combined with two failed epidurals and needing plenty of rehabilitation for my spine and pelvis- recovery has been much longer this time.”

Catherine went on to say she’s finally back feeling herself and back in the gym.

She continued: “It’s been really hard at times but for me – But – having children means I want to give them the best version of me, and I want to live for as long as I can.

In a call to other mums, the star ended by writing: “Mommas… I know it’s hard right now- but you CAN feel like you again. Keep going!!!! Do not give up!! Show up for yourself AND the kids.”

It comes just a couple of months after Catherine revealed her husband Tom’s cancer scare.

She shared the deeply personal experience and revealed how Tom Pittfield found a lump in his breast, behind his nipple.

Sharing a picture of a male breast, Catherine wrote: "Naturally, when you find a lump anywhere, as much as you try not to- you worry.

"After a scan and an ultra sound GP still wasn’t sure what we were dealing with. So Tom needed a biopsy."

The actress said the wait "was painful as always" before adding that Tom wasn't even aware men could get breast cancer.
