Prue Leith showed the Great British Bake Off contestants what she expected to see in the technical challenge but viewers were confused with what they were meant to be. The baking judge was mocked by some fans of the Channel 4 show when she presented her spring rolls.

In the latest instalment of the competition, the baking hopefuls were battling for a place in the semi-finals.

The bakers were asked to create the perfect spring roll and Prue presented her controversial-looking examples.

Fans of the Channel 4 show duly flocked to social media to question her interestingly-textured creation.

Amy tweeted: “I could not eat those spring rolls, they look like they’re covered in warts!”

Sinead wrote: “Prue set spring rolls yet was unable to make her spring rolls look right. MAKE IT MAKE SENSE.”

@Annappl10 joked: “Even Prue’s spring rolls look like s**t, there’s no hope for the bakers #GBBO

Fiona added: “Is it me, or are Prue’s spring rolls really bubbly? She said they were smooth though #GBBO.”

Sarah Tranquillo penned: “Did not know Spring rolls should have bubbles? Chinese restaurants getting wrong all these years.” (sic)

@hahknee commented: “Prue’s spring rolls don’t even look appetising #GBBO.”

As well as creating a savoury spring roll, the baking hopefuls were asked to create a pie too as part of the showstopper challenge.

However, the judges were disappointed with the overall performance of the bakers in the tent.

Paul described their pie efforts with Prue, saying: “Every one of them was dry.”

Syabira was voted the star baker after impressing Paul and Prue with her savoury efforts.

However, Maxy had a difficult week after a timing mishap and was voted off at the quarter-final stage.

Maxy said: “It’s really sad to go but I happy. And I am really proud that I made it this far.”

Her close friend on the show Syapira reflected on her mix of emotions after Maxy was voted off.

She told cameras, while wiping tears from her eyes: “I’m sorry I feel so confused. I don’t know if I want to be happy or cry.”

Paul also discussed his regret at Maxy’s elimination, he remarked: “She’s been one of the strongest bakers coming into today.

He warned: “It was really close between her and Sandro. Sandro’s got to be really careful next time.”

The final of Bake Off has still not been confirmed but from the judge’s comments, the quality will have to go to the next level to impress Prue and Paul.
