Disaster hits the Emmerdale village again as a panicked horse is on the loose

Who can forget the cow stampede that was a highlight of Emmerdale’s 50th anniversary episodes last October?

As a fierce storm raged through the village, one of Moira (Natalie J. Robb)’s barns collapsed in the gale and the panicked cows rushed out and along the lane – straight towards Nate (Jurell Carter), Belle (Eden Taylor-Draper) and Sam (James Hooton). Sam was horribly impaled on a piece of farm machinery as he dived out of the way of the mooing menace.

Memories of that scary incident may resurface again in upcoming episodes as once again an animal gets free to terrorise the neighbourhood. In this case it’s Apollo, an expensive stud horse that Kim (Claire King) has just purchased for her stud farm. Cain (Jeff Hordley) unlocks the gate to Apollo’s stall as payback for Will (Dean Andrews) not allowing him to see Kyle (Huey Quinn) when Cain spots them at the playground.

Will is out of his depth as he tries to control the panicking horse, much to the amusement of Cain who is watching from a distance.

‘Cain just reacts as he normally does and just thinks, I’m going to get you for this, I’m going to teach you a lesson,’ Jeff Hordley explained. ‘He’s not in a particularly good way with Kyle so he’s probably just lashing out at somebody who’s just in the way.’

Amid the chaos Sam and Caleb (William Ash) ride to the rescue with a horse box. Can they safely round up Apollo and save him from hurting himself or anyone who might get in his way?
