Disney actress turned porn star Maitland Ward flaunts hair transformation as she dyes her iconic red locks | The Sun

DISNEY actress turned porn star Maitland Ward has flaunted her new look after dying her iconic red hair.

The renowned redhead, 46, surprised fans as she debuted her lighter-looking locks on her Instagram story.

She shocked her followers after ditching the vibrant colour that has been a constant throughout her career.

But don't panic, as the California-born beauty hasn't completely got rid of her red – instead opting for a cooler shade.

Sharing a smiling selfie, Maitland asked her 1.8million followers: "Do we like the new red?"

She followed up the post with a series of snaps flaunting her new ginger look, which she seemed to be thrilled with.

Her fans are sure to be stunned by her latest transformation, as she has pretty much rocked the same shade of red since her Disney days.

The self-proclaimed "exhibitionist" previously revealed her hair colour helped secure her role on Boy Meets World, as producers loved the distinctiveness it gave her.

But Maitland – who played Rachel McGuire in 90s sitcom – is not scared of revolutionising her look, or her legacy.

The former teenybopper decided to trade her clean-cut image for a more provocative persona after reaching her 40s.

She decided to capitalize on her looks for her first big video, soliciting the help of friend and former adult actress Elle Alexandra.

Maitland previously told The Sun: "I needed somebody for something non-pornographic, just something cute for Kiss a Ginger day.

"So we did a cutesy kissy [photo shoot], but I was very comfortable and she told me ‘you’re going to do something in adult’.

"She could tell. So she introduced me to other people and that led to [where I am today]."

The stunning redhead went on to star in the adult film Drive after becoming popular on social media for sharing sexy snaps.

After signing an exclusive contract with Deeper.com, the website behind the porn flick, she has continued to film a number of X-rated scenes.

She juggles her professional gigs alongside creating content for her OnlyFans page, where fans pay for exclusive pictures and can request custom-made videos.

Maitland recently hit the headlines after hitting back at critics who judged her for joining the adult platform, saying they are just "jealous."

She fumed: "I totally think it's empowerment. If women want to do OnlyFans, it is empowerment.

"If a guy says they don't find someone marriage material because of it… are we back in the 1950s?"

The Disney prodigy is staunchly defensive of her evolution into an adult star and wants to get rid of the stigma surrounding porn.

Maitland regards her decision to switch gears as a savvy business move and described it as her "authentic journey."

The former actress released a book last year discussing her transition to become a porn star titled, Rated X: How Porn Liberated Me from Hollywood.

Ahead of its release, Maitland told Yahoo! Life: "I'm unapologetic about sex…but I think it's me in my truth and everything.

"When I was young, I was so apologetic for so many years. I will never apologize anymore."

She explosively claimed Boy Meets World bosses had "asked her to try on lingerie" for them.

But Maitland alleged that producer Michael Jacobs was "very adamant about me being chaste and the good girl."

She continued: "It was just very confusing. It hindered my sexual exploration and finding out who I was for a very long time.

"But I think now that I'm really open with myself and I can try new things and I'm not holding back or anything — I think that's really sexy."
