Do I'm A Celebrity contestants have contact with the outside world while in the jungle? | The Sun

I'M A Celebrity has been thrilling fans, since the show burst onto ITV in 2002.

Over the years, the hit reality show has become harder and harder, with gruesome trials and lack of food – but some fans wonder if the campmates get any contact with the outside world.

Do I'm A Celebrity contestants have contact with the outside world?

Whilst taking part in I'm A Celebrity, the campmates are completely cut off from the rest of the world.

The only outside contact they get is with hosts Ant and Dec, the show's producers, and also the medical team

They are not allowed mobile phones, or any kind of communication with friends and family when they are in the jungle.

Just like on Love Island, the celebs also aren't allowed to know the time.

Over the years, contestants taking part have admitted to having secret signals that they use to communicate with loved ones at home.

For the 2022 series Owen Warner has revealed he will be making a heart shape with his hands during the live segments of I'm A Celebrity, as a way of communicating with his mum, Polly.

Speaking to The Sun he said: “I will give her a little one of these [makes a half heart with his hand] it is half a love heart and she does the other half.”

Meanwhile, another bend of the rules for the season 22 sees Matt Hancock being allowed to talk to his aides.

ITV has relaxed rules just for the MP, so he can keep communicating with staff if there's a constituency emergency in his West Suffolk patch.
