EastEnders murder mystery pieced together as fans spot Elaine Peacock clues

EastEnders airs special flashforward scene for Christmas 2023

Eagle-eyed EastEnders fans think they have pieced together the Christmas murder mystery in a wild new theory, and Elaine Peacock (Harriet Thorpe) is at the center of all the drama.

Back in February, viewers of the BBC One soap time travelled to Christmas Day 2023 when an explosive scene showed someone had been killed in The Queen Vic.

The flashforward caught a glimpse of Denise Fox (Diane Parish), Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner), Linda Carter (Kelly Bright), Kathy Beale (Gillian Taylforth), Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean), and Suki Kaur Panesar (Balvinder Sopal) locked in the pub with a dead body laying on the floor.

The true identity of the victim remains a mystery in a thrilling ‘whodunit’ that’s lasted much of the year.

However, some EastEnders fans are convinced Elaine is also in the pub at the time of the murder but is standing out of view on the other side of the dead body, directly in front of Sharon.

They also believe Dean Wicks (Matt Di Angelo) is the corpse after the villain returned to Albert Square this week.

Dean first arrived on the Square in 2006 and is the son of Shirley Carter (Linda Henry) and brother to Mick Carter (Danny Dyer), who is now presumed dead.

The jack-the-lad was a troublemaker when he was younger but during his return in 2014, Dean developed into a much darker side and left two years later after he raped his sister-in-law Linda in a harrowing assault.

But earlier this week, Dean returned and gave Linda the fright of her life when he revealed he’s moving back to the Square to start a new business with Cindy Beale (Michelle Collins) and to be closer to his unwell daughter Jade.

In a chilling conversation, Dean also told Linda that he doesn’t “need consent” to speak to his mum Shirley and that he can do what he likes, including living in Walford.

Rattled by Dean’s shocking return, Linda told her mum Elaine that she has to find a way to get Dean out of their lives.

EastEnders fans have now been taking to social media to predict Elaine Peacock will kill Dean Wicks with the bust of Queen Victoria in The Vic on Christmas Day.

On X (Twitter), @Djgillers22 wrote: “You know I’m done. Except for the Christmas murder which is set to be the best thing ever. Sharon, Linda, Denise, Kathy, Suki, and Stacey are set to kill a man on Christmas Day. But who? I say Elaine has Dean “a chip of the old block” killed over the head with a bust! #EastEnders.”

@AletaMarshXXX speculated: “EastEnders Christmas – Who gets killed. Victim: – Dean Wicks. Attacker: – Elaine Peacock. Item Used: – Queen Vic Bust. Motive: – Protect George Knight (fighting Dean Wicks) and revenge for her daughter Linda (who was r*ped by Dean Wicks).”

@alexiamoorechen predicted: “THEORY! Dean is the body. Killer is Elaine or George. How is he killed: whacked round the head with a stool.”

“Prediction. Elaine kills Dean on Christmas Day #EastEnders”, added @andrewmcb.

EastEnders airs on Mondays – Thursdays at 7.30pm on BBC One.
