EastEnders' Poppy Meadow actress Rachel Bright looks almost unrecognisable nine years since her soap exit.

Introduced to the BBC One soap opera in January 2011, Poppy arrived in Albert Square as the best friend of character Jodie Gold (Kylie Babbington), who was Darren Miller's (Charlie G. Hawkins) love interest.

Rachel's character of Poppy was introduced in scenes filling in for those cut from a controversial baby-swap storyline.

Only appearing in the soap for a short while, she then departed before returning in June that same year.

Remaining in the soap for a few months more, she left the soap again in November 2011 with the character of Jodie also departing.

In June 2012 Rachel made a comeback to the soap and reprised her role as Poppy, moving into Walford and resuming her employment at the local beauty salon.

During her return to Albert Square, Poppy struck up a romantic relationship with Fatboy (Ricky Norwood – who follows Rachel on Instagram still).

The character was axed in September 2013 with her final scenes airing in January 2014.

But now more than nine years since her final departure from the soap opera, Rachel looks completely different.

Known in EastEnders for her dark brunette tresses which were usually straightened complete with a full fringe grazing her brows, Rachel now has lighter locks.

With a shoulder length bob and blonde highlights, Rachel looks world away from her preppy character of Poppy.

Her Instagram account, RachelBrightDavies, has more than 1,500 followers.

Posting snaps from her daily life, Rachel's Instagram page contains snaps of the star enjoying holidays abroad as well as snaps from her wedding.

Married to fellow actor Jonno Davies, Rachel got hitched to her hubby in the summer of 2021.

That same year, both actors appeared alongside one another in an episode of BBC One's Holby City playing Beth Miller and Leo Powell.

Aside from her acting gigs, Rachel bakes and even had a dedicated baking page on Instagram.

Her account, BakingBright, features a selection of iced biscuits and intricately decorated cakes that Rachel has worked on.

The account states that Baking Bright is a "local business" with the bio stating: "Currently closed. Please check back soon for updates."
