Eve Unwin (Heather Peace) is on a mission of revenge in EastEnders next week after discovering a dark secret about newcomer Caz.
The former lawyer, as viewers know, crossed paths with Caz earlier this week, believing her to have been a woman she met a Pride. Caz, however, was harbouring a secret and wanted to strike up a conversation with Eve, in the hopes of revealing her true motivations in coming to the Square.
Eve, believing Caz to be a woman named Amanda, was stunned when her ‘date’ revealed her true identity, confirming that she was driving the car that killed her beloved sister.
‘It just drags up all of her past emotions and brings it back to the forefront of Eve mind,’ said actress Heather Peace of the storyline.
‘I don’t think she’s ever really dealt with her sister’s death, which is why she lashes out in moments.
‘It’s all been buried for so long, so it’s all there and raw. I don’t think she has got any coping mechanism at all.’
Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner) encourages Eve to stay away from Caz. Eve, however, struggles to do so, meeting with her again this week, which proves heartwrenching.
Next week, Suki Panesar (Balvinder Sopal) finds Eve having slept on the park bench, and is quick to offer support. ‘I don’t think Eve knows what to do at all, and the fact she keeps drinking as well means she’s not getting any clarity of thought,’ continued Heather.
‘The fact she keeps drowning her sorrows means she’s not thinking rationally or finding any way through.
‘That deep connection between [Eve and Suki] is always there, but this is the first time that their relationship isn’t at the forefront of Eve’s mind.

‘It’s the first time that we see that there is something bigger than that for her. It’s not in her mind at all, but it makes sense that it’s her soul mate who finds her, and Eve can talk very openly to Suki.’
After a heart-to-heart with Eve, Suki offers to accompany her to the police station to report the new information that’s come to light about Caz, but things don’t pan out as Eve hoped, with the police refusing to investigate.
‘That’s when she decides to take matters into her own hands,’ teased Heather. ‘Again, it’s because she’s drinking and having no clarity of thought. She is absolutely off the rails, the most we have ever seen her.
‘Borderline unhinged!’
The question is: can Eve’s loved ones stop her from doing something she might live to regret?
