EastEnders viewers heartbroken over Lexi’s Father’s Day card but spot hilarious blunder

EastEnders fans have been left heartbroken for young Lexi as the square celebrated Father's Day. With Father's Day being just weeks after Lexi's mum Lola passed away, celebrating wasn't on the agenda for the little one in Monday's episode.

The heartbroken little one is the daughter of Ben Mitchell, but she has his husband Callum Highway and Lola's husband Jay as dads too. Lexi recognised that with her handmade Father's Day card for Ben this year.

Lexi had made a card which had Jay, Ben and Callum inside, acknowledging the three father figures she has in her life. Fans of the show were left heartbroken and emotional over Lexi's card and her behaviour in the episode.

One emotional fan shared a picture of the heartfelt card and said: "This is sending me #EastEnders." While another one said: "My heart breaks for Lexi, she deserves the world."

This fan was full of praise for Isabella Brown, who plays Lexi, as they tweeted: "Lexi is just an amazing little actress #EastEnders." "#EastEnders Lexi's father's Day card with a picture of all of her father's on" with a series of happy face emojis, said one viewer.

Despite the sweet sentiment of the card, some viewers were quick to point out a blunder from Lexi. One fan pointed out: "I’ve just been told that the two on the right are meant to be Ben and Callum.

"Callum looks more like bloody Dot Cotton." One viewer replied with a number of crying emojis before saying: "He actually does, I can’t unsee that now."

The episode was a tough one for Lexi as she struggled to open up to Jay and Ben about losing her mum. Jay suggested the trio head out for dinner, but Lexi just shrugged her shoulders and seemed uninterested in the idea as she gripped Jay.

She then told them both that she had been thinking and she would like to speak about her mum at her funeral later in the month. However, Ben told her no and shot her down as he didn't think it was a good idea.

Heartbroken, Lexi slammed her bedroom door and sat behind the door clutching a picture of her and Lola. Ben tried to get her to talk, explaining that the reality of losing her mum could hit her so hard on the day.

Ben told an upset Lexi that he couldn't watch her struggling to find the words and choking on her tears as she spoke at the funeral. Jay eventually gets through to Lexi after suggesting they speak about her decision over lunch.

While at lunch Ben gives in and tells his struggling daughter that he will let her speak if that's what she wants. Lola's funeral is set to air next week as Walford says goodbye to one of the biggest personalities they had.
