Emmerdale fans work out exit for Charles Anderson after arrest

Emmerdale: Billy and Dawn at scene where Alex was hit by a car

Emmerdale’s Alex Moore was run down by Billy Fletcher after trying to run away with drugs he had stolen from Manpreet Sharma’s delivery van. However, fans of the soap have claimed Charles Anderson and Naomi Walters will leave the village after being wrongly accused of the murder.

During Friday night’s episode, the police approached Charles whilst he was out in the village to question him about Alex’s accident.

Noticing the dent in his car, they began to wonder if Charles may have been involved which he denied.

Charles admitted he had seen Alex earlier in the day and tried to apprehend him after noticing he had the stolen drugs in the back of his car.

The police officers asked Charles to accompany them to the police station, whilst securing his car for further investigation.

Ethan Anderson (Emile John) was stunned the police thought it could have been him to hit Alex and told him: “Look, dad, don’t say anything until we’ve gotten you a solicitor all right?”

At the station, Charles asked the officers whether there was a witness to clear his name as there was no one who could corroborate his alibi that he was just out for a drive.

Panicking he was getting blamed for the accident, he told the officers: “I’m sorry, I can’t remember exactly where I went other than the petrol station in Connelton.”

The officer replied: “It’s a busy spot. Did you pay by card?” to which Charles admitted he paid by cash and didn’t get a receipt.

Explaining the situation to Charles, the officer added: “Our enquiry is ongoing. We’ll know more once the vehicle impact analysis is through.

“But based on your history with Mr Moore, and your altercation with him, and the fact that your vehicle appears to have sustained significant damage.

“And along with a lack of any alibis or witnesses and the inconsistencies in your actions, I’m arresting you on suspicious of dangerous driving.

“And I have to remind you that you are still under caution.”
