Emmerdale spoilers: Nicola King violently attacked by gang

THE Dales are never safe for its residents and Nicola King is about to get a painful reminder.

Next week in Emmerdale, the co-owner of Café Main Street is brutally attacked by a gang of teenagers.

Nicola King (portrayed by Nicola Wheeler) has been more or less spared from the ups and downs of life in the Yorkshire village in recent weeks.

However, she has not been on the best of terms with her half-sister Bernice Blackstock, particularly due to their council rivalry which has prompted Nicola to resort to ruthless tactics to take out her competition.

But in scenes due to air next week, Laurel Thomas (played by Charlotte Bellamy) takes it upon herself to push the warring sisters back to one another as they all head out to a bar.

A tired Nicola leaves early but, while on the way to her car, she's accosted by a group of teenage girls who don't have the best of intentions.

Nicola is mugged, left beaten, bloodied and unmoving after her attack.

She is later seen bruised in a hospital as her husband Jimmy (Nick Miles), Laurel, Bernice and Rodney gather round, anxiously waiting for answers as to what happened.

Nicola wakes up groggy but when Jimmy questions her about her attack, she lies and says she can't remember who attacked her, embarrassed that a gang of teenage girls have gotten the best of her.

But secrets always resurface in the titular village and Gabby (Rosie Bentham) soon reveals a video she has found of Nicola's attack.
