Emmerdales Amelia Spencer actress drops clue over babys father as fans work it out

The mystery of the father of Amelia Spencer's baby continues in Emmerdale this week. Played by actress Daisy Campbell, 18, the teenager was forced to reveal her pregnancy when she collided with Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) at the doctors surgery.

At the time, Amelia blurted out that the father was Charity's son Noah (Jack Downham) and Charity was horrified at first, especially after discovering how far along Amelia was in her pregnancy.

In a further twist, however, Charity softened to the idea of the pregnancy after admitting that she too was pregnant.

And now actress Daisy Campbell has fuelled the flames of uncertainty by teasing the identity of Amelia's baby's father and confirming it isn't Charity's troubled son.

Speaking to Digital Spy, Daisy said she was looking forward to filming Amelia's birth scenes saying: "I feel really excited. When I said I always wanted to do this storyline, that's what you lead up to and that's what you're working towards".

She added: "I am a little bit nervous but really excited because I've done my prep and I know where to go with it."

The actress then dropped the biggest clue yet that Noah is not the father saying: "Deep down she would [wish Noah was the father] because, without giving away who it is, the other father is not really around."

She added: "Now she has got this connection with Noah, deep down she's wishing it was him because he's around more than this other person."

Emmerdale fans have always suspected there's more to this storyline and continue to speculate wildly on Twitter over the baby's paternal father.

One tweeted: "#emmerdale feels like Amelia's baby could be known who is the father?? and I'm thinking might be Arthur Thomas!!!! #AmeliaArthur."

Another added: "Amelia needs to start talking, and QUICKLY! Why did she let Charity think that Noah was the Father of her unborn?!" And a third said: "He's not the father Charity that's what Amelia's trying to tell you."

Emmerdale is preparing to celebrate its 50th Anniversary with a huge storm set to change everything.

And bosses have revealed three characters will be returning to the village especially. Speaking to OK! and and other reporters, the ITV soap's executive producer Jane Hudson said of the celebrations: "We have got every story imaginable.

"We've got things that are going to make you laugh, make you cry, make you surprised, and stunts that are going to rock your world. It's the week that's going to deliver the most epic of stunts," she promised.

The storm will be stretched across a week's worth of episodes and Jane said: "It's not just a storm that affects one small group it affects the entire village, so I think it will feel different."

She added: "I think one element in particular really will feel different… there is one element nobody has done and no other soap could do it apart from Emmerdale because of where we are… that’s a hint for you."

The official date for the 50th anniversary episodes have not been revealed, but the soap celebrates its big birthday on Sunday 16 October.
