This week onLove Island , bombshell Leah Taylor was reduced to tears after Sammy Root branded her as a 'test' in his relationship with Jess Harding, sparking conversations online about the role of the bombshell in the Love Island villa.
The battle between the OG Islanders and the bombshells happens every season, with iconic bombshells such as Megan Barton-Hanson and Molly-Mae Hague sent in to shake things up and try to make coupled-up Islander’s heads turn.
However, as with Leah, things don’t always turn out in the bombshells' favour with the OG Islanders often having the advantage of time on their side. After a number of flirty conversations, Sammy was quick to dismiss any connection with Leah after the dumping. Later in the beach hut, Leah broke down in tears saying: “How are you going to be that flirty with me and then just stand there and label me as a test? I'm a human.”
She continued: 'That just felt so horrible. I don't want someone to just flirt with me for fun. It's out of order – I'm not here to be someone's test I'm here for find a genuine connection for myself.”
Later, she explained to Sammy how much he had hurt her with his comments, with Sammy harshly responding: “I'm sure you are but it's not my problem”, adding: “I feel like you're being upset just because I didn't choose you.”
Viewers were quick to jump to Leah’s defence on social media, with one writing: “awwwww poor leah 🙁 i feel like the guys are all using her #LoveIsland.”
Another wrote: “Especially with how sexual he was flirting with her, Sammy taking a dig at Leah in his speech like she had no feelings must have felt SO objectifying! #loveisland.”
A third added: “I do feel bad for Leah because Zach, Sammy, Mitchell and Tyrique have basically all used her for flirting practice #loveisland.”
A fourth chimed in: “I totally agree with Leah, this bs of calling people 'tests' should end! #LoveIsland.”
Elsewhere, Sammy has also fallen out of favour with his on-again off-again partner Jess after she informed him she planned on exploring a potential connection with Mitchel Taylor.
Jess told Sammy during their chat: "Right, I want to be honest with you. So, obviously, when I spoke to you earlier about the Mitch situation, when I was speaking to him – I'm not even gonna lie, like – I don't wanna do that.
"I just feel like me and him get on. Obviously, not as well as what we do, but I feel like, why should I bite my nose to spite my face when I get on with him? So, I just thought I'd let you know."
Sammy then hit back: "It's taken you this long to realise?"
With tensions boiling over, Jess later exploded at Sammy, shouting: "Just to clarify, yeah, I’m not even making a scene, but you wanted to get to know Leah, I stepped back and let you do your thing, I said I want to chat to Mitchell, and you kick off. Do you know how much your little boy behaviour annoys me?"
