GB News host savages Susanna Reid for losing award to ‘better’ Nigel Farage

Nana Akua takes aim at Harry and Meghan

GB News host Nana Akua took aim at Good Morning Britain’s Susanna Reid on Dan Wootton Tonight after the latter missed out on the Presenter of the Year gong to Nigel Farage at the TRIC Awards.

During Wednesday’s show, Dan Wootton began: “Now yesterday Nana, we were both there sitting next to each other, you were very good company.

“But we sent a hammer blow here at GB News through the broadcasting establishment by picking up to gongs at the TRIC Awards which were actually voted for by the public.

“Why Nigel Farage had to put up with boos and jeers when he collected his award for Best Presenter, you think by today the woke [lot] would be ready to move on, but no Nana.

“No, because Susanna Reid, after losing out to Nigel continued to the deranged attacks on woke Good Morning Britain.”

Dan showed a clip of Susanna telling Good Morning Britain viewers that GB News’ Nigel had “the longest acceptance speech” which she claimed was about “six minutes long”.

While Susanna went on to congratulate Nigel, she added: “There were a lot of boos… And to be fair I think he kind of whipped them up.”

When the cameras were back on Dan and Nana, he reiterated how Good Morning Britain “won nothing from the viewers”, however, it did receive the Special Award.

Nana called it a “consolation” prize, adding: “I don’t know who votes for it, but it certainly isn’t the people which are the people who voted for GB News.

“It’s interesting she brought up the fact she’s a woman and was the only woman on the shortlist as if that may have been one of the reasons why she didn’t get the prize.”

Nana continued: “The reason she didn’t get the prize is because Nigel is better and Nigel responds and Nigel is reactive to what the people actually want.

“If I’m honest, as much as I used to watch Good Morning Britain many years ago, it’s very passe and in the background and doesn’t connect with people as well as GB News.”

She claimed: “They have got complacent, they have got so used to getting the views and the sponsorship that they’ve had to make very little effort with the programme.”

Concluding her attack, Nana claimed Good Morning Britain has “taken viewers for granted”.

Susanna and her co-host Charlotte Hawkins accepted the Special Award on Tuesday at the TRIC Awards and continuously thanked viewers on Wednesday’s instalment of the ITV news programme.

She praised the Good Morning Britain team and stressed how the accolade was a joint effort.

Dan Wootton Tonight airs on weeknights at 9pm on GB News.
