Good Morning Britain almost faced an awkward moment as viewers were terrified for host Andi Peters.

Ed Balls and Susanna Reid were back at the helm of the hit ITV programme on Monday's episode.

In the episode, the hosts spoke to show regular Andi Peters via video link who was in Port De Sóller to give viewers the rundown on the latest prize.

Appearing from the sun-soaked location, Andi could be seen balancing on an infinity pool and proclaimed: "Guys take a look at where I am – this is wonderful."

"A luxury hotel that I managed to sneak into," he joked, before nervously adding: "My legs are shaking because I’m balancing on the edge of this infinity pool.”

He then said: “Wow, wow,” as his legs wobbled on the edge of the pool.

"Hopefully you can see just how stunning this location is, and it's the kind of place you can come to if you win our prize."

But things took an awkward turn moments later when Andi attempted to leave the pool from the edge, admitting he was “so nervous.”

"The sun is shining, but I'm going to have to leave this pool, and it's going to be so difficult, he said.

As the TV star struggled to make his way to land, he added: "I'm so nervous."

    “Just jump,” co-host Ed quipped.

To which Andi then suddenly lost his footing and fell, only to jump down to a platform that was behind the pool.

Both hosts then booed Andi for trying to pull the wool over their eyes .

Realising he had been caught out, Andi then sheepishly walked off the screen.

Andi is known to present the ITV competition from a number of exotic locations – but some fans have often complained about his air miles during the cost of living crisis.

Taking to Twitter, one viewer previously fumed: "Have the well paid people at the top of GMB not worked out yet that stories of poverty and hardship followed by Andi Air Miles Peters jetting about all over the place just isn’t right.

Meanwhile another furious viewer chimed: "Why do you persist in promoting competitions? Why are you enabling Andi Peters (apparently a multi millionaire who owns the company that administers the competitions) to make money from vulnerable people? A bit hypocritical given all your talk of the cost of living crisis."
