HIT show Hollyoaks has cast an ex EastEnders and The Kumars star for a huge wedding plot.
Indira Joshi will play a family member of village local Nadira Valli, named Aleeza, and the 80-year-old is set to arrive in the village for Nadira’s wedding to Shaq.
Hollyoaks viewers can expect to catch the wedding all next week on the soap, with Indira as a very welcome addition to the cast.
The actress has a successful background, having played Mariam Ahmed on EastEnders for two years between 2017 and 2019.
She’s also recognised for her role in The Kumars, and she’s starred in every episode of the iconic comedy series at No 42, which ran from 2001 until 2006.

As well as these shows, Indira has also starred in Coronation Street, Grange Hill and Hollywood movie Superman IV, with her most recent role happening in 2021 in detective drama Unforgotten.
Unforgotten fans relished in the show’s return at the time, and they were delighted to see a string of EastEnders stars featuring – including Indira, and Phaldut Sharma and Sheila Hancock.
It’s set to be quite the week on Hollyoaks, as all hell breaks loose between Sienna Blake and Warren Fox as the pair go from lovers to mortal enemies.
Warren and Sienna set out on a game of tit for tat and their feud is definitely far from being put to rest.

In fact, things come to a head once again this week between the former lovebirds as the tough man played by Jamie Lomas gets payback against Sienna who tried to have him killed in recent weeks.
