Inside Towie star Kelsey Stratford's charity party for her seriously ill sister | The Sun

TOWIE star Kelsey Stratford threw an incredible charity party for her seriously ill sister last night.

The 21-year-old hosted an event at The Ivy Soho Brasserie in London yesterday for eight-year-old Kennedy, who has Spinal Muscular Atrophy.

Kelsey first opened up about her sister's life-limiting disease during an episode of Towie in 2020.

Spinal Muscular Atrophy is a genetic condition that makes the muscles weak and causes problems with movement – worsening over time.

The reality star regularly talks about Spinal Muscular Atrophy to raise awareness on social media, and decided to host a fundraising event for a Spinal Muscular Atrophy UK on Thursday night.

The event was also in memory of Kelsey's little brother and Kennedy's twin, Karter, who passed away from the disease.

She totally transformed the lavish restaurant into the most gorgeous set up for the event.

Guests were welcomed to the event with a glass of bubbly, as well as a gorgeous blue themed balloon display as they walked through the door.

It said: "Welcome to Kelsey's charity event."

Those invited were also treated to special cocktails, delicious food and took part in a raffle.

There was also an entertainer and a photo booth for guests to use.

Kelsey, who is an ambassador for Spinal Muscular Atrophy UK, also posted a gorgeous snap of her at the event on her grid.

She captioned the post: "First charity event for @sma_uk completed ❤️ I had the best night with the best people raising money and awareness for SMA & I can’t thank everyone enough for coming 🦋."

In September 2020 Kelsey opened up about her heartache after losing her brother to SMA when he was four months old.

She broke down in tears as she opened up about her secret family heartache with Clelia Theodorou.

Kelsey also spoke about his twin sister's life-limiting disease, explaining that doctors didn't think the now-eight-year-old would live past the age of 18 months.

Kelsey emotionally said: "It is a big thing for me to move out because my home life is a bit traumatic, do you know about my little sister?
