ITV This Morning fans want Cat Deeley to be permanent host after fronting show with Rylan

Fans of ITV's daytime show, This Morning, are pleading with bosses to make Cat Deeley a permanent host.

Alongside Rylan Clark, 47 year old Cat presented the show on Monday and Tuesday this week (13 and 14 November) and will present with Craig Doyle on Wednesday.

Rylan, 35, has presented the morning show with Josie Gibson in recent weeks, but she has now jetted off to Australia to take part in I'm A Celebrity.

Rylan was all smiles as he welcomed Cat on Monday's show, saying: "Hello and welcome to Monday's This Morning. What a way to start the week – TV legend Cat Deeley is in the studio!"

Cat said: “Can you believe they’ve let two of the naughtiest people in television live on ITV?”

“Now this is officially the end,” Rylan said. “This is how it ends.”

Cat returned on Tuesday's show – and show bosses made sure her presence was felt by bringing back a legendary game in honour of her hosting. During the Spin to Win segment, the duo also played a round of Wonky Donkey – a popular part of her hit kids TV show SMTV Live, which she hosted with Ant and Dec.

Cat has also presented ITV’s Stars In Their Eyes and the BBC’s Fame Academy before hosting American competition show So You Think You Can Dance for more than a decade.

Viewers took to social media to express their love for Cat as host. One fan posted: "Think This Morning have finally found their permanent presenters. Loved watching these two together – Rylan and Cat actually made the show worth watching throughout".

Another viewer agreed, saying: "Cat Deeley and Rylan should be the permanent hosts for This Morning!"

Another said: "Finally, you have got it right!!!" and a fourth commented: "An enjoyable morning with Rylan and Cat Deeley. I'm sure so many will be happy at this presenting combo and now the dust will settle and we can enjoy the programme again."

In October, Holly Willoughby departed as the main host of the daytime programme after 14 years in the role.

Her exit came after her long-time co-host Phillip Schofield's exit in May, after he admitted to an “unwise but not illegal” relationship with a younger male colleague.

This Morning is on every weekday at 10am on ITV1 and ITVX.
