Janet Street-Porter upset she hasn’t been invited to the coronation
On Tuesday’s instalment of Loose Women, panellists Jane Moore, Brenda Edwards, Janet Street-Porter and Kelly Holmes were discussing who people can expect to see at the royal coronation in May. However, during the discussion it was clear Janet wasn’t pleased to be missing out on the celebrations.
Introducing the topic, Jane informed viewers it’s been speculated some members of parliament aren’t happy they can’t take a plus one to the forthcoming coronation.
However, it’s believed Olympian Kelly Holmes has been invited to the celebrations with Jane quickly questioning if she’d be taking one of the Loose Women ladies with her.
Nervously laughing, the 52-year-old looked away as she joked Janet was staring her out, eager to be the person she takes along on the day.
Kelly confessed she was unable to say too much about her role in the day but teased ITV viewers can expect to see her make an appearance at some point.
Jane commented: “This is how friendships end, yesterday Linda (Robson) and Denise (Welch) said that they’ve been invited to a garden party at the Palace and I haven’t,” as Janet replied: “I haven’t”.
Although Brenda remained tight-lipped about whether or not she’d be at the coronation as she revealed she’s not allowed to say much.
Curious, Jane asked: “So Janet, have you not been invited to this garden party either?”
Furious, the 76-year-old swiped: “I’ve not been invited to anything in spite of having a CBE, which stands willing to crawl anywhere for an invite.”
When Jane asked if Kelly had been invited to the garden party with Linda and Denise, she jibed: “Well, I’ve got a Dame.”
Janet quickly quipped back: “You have outranked me there but this is a temporary glitch.”
The upcoming coronation is set to be a much scaled-down event with around 2,000 people receiving an invitation.

While Prince William and Kate Middleton are expected to be present over the weekend of events, it’s not yet known if the King’s youngest child will be there.
A representative of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle confirmed they had received an invite but are yet to make a decision.
The coronation itself, which will be held at Westminster Abbey, falls on the same day as Harry and Meghan’s son Archie’s fourth birthday.
At the start of May, a spokesperson for the Sussexes said: “I can confirm the duke has recently received email correspondence from His Majesty’s office regarding the coronation.
“An immediate decision on whether the duke and duchess will attend will not be disclosed by us at this time.”
