Laurence Fox on the verge of tears as he addresses GB News interview

Laurence Fox releases video after GB News suspension

Laurence Fox became emotional as he talked about his hugely controversial remarks made on GB News earlier in the week about Ava Evans.

Speaking on “free speech show and podcast” Triggernometry on YouTube, the actor and politician became emotional when he touched on the subject of male suicide, which he claims spurred his extreme reaction.

“I have friends who have died from male suicide,” the 45-year-old argued.

He continued: “And you don’t see it coming,” before becoming tearful as he added: “And I’m still angry about it.

“Don’t do that. Don’t go, ‘Oh, it’s a cultural issue,’ or, ‘shush,’ you never see it in men.

“I’m lucky I’m an emotional person and that is a story.

“And to belittle that is just shameful and disgusting, actually, and I could make an argument now that I’m riled up again, to say people like that are vile, disgusting people., but I can’t do that.”

Konstantin Kisin and Francis Foster had interviewed Laurence following his lengthy video statement published to his Twitter on Thursday.

It comes as Ofcom was flooded with complaints earlier this week when Laurence joined Dan Wootton Tonight on GB News and made vile remarks about Ava.

At one point he asked: “Who would want to s**g that?” as he spoke to host Dan.

In response to the backlash that followed, GB News said it has launched an investigation into what it describes as “totally unacceptable” comments.

The 45-year-old, who is the leader of the Reclaim Party, made a string of misogynistic remarks about Ava, the political correspondent for online news site Joe.

He claimed that no “self-respecting man” would “like to climb into bed with that woman, ever”.

Two days later he announced a statement would be released at 7pm, and he addressed the backlash in the video clip.

“One of the things that we are looking at now is that GB News have opened themselves up for complete destruction, as far as I can tell, because they branded themselves as the home of free speech,” Laurence argued.

He continued: “Now, if you’re the home of free speech, then they want they could easily have done is say, ‘We think what Laurence said was appalling and reprehensible, but he’s got the right to say it, it is his opinion.

“Could he have expressed it better? Yes’, and, as I’ve said in this conversation with you, I could have expressed it better and I should have expressed it better.”
