Love Island fans call out Mitchel for his reaction during ‘brutal’ villa vote

With week three in the Love Island villa now in full swing, the Islanders were once again pulled from their comfort zones on Tuesday night’s episode, when a surprise appearance from Maya Jama saw the couples asked to decide who they felt was the least compatible at this stage of the competition.

In a further twist, the Islanders were later summoned to the fire-pit where they would be required to reveal their decision to the whole villa, with more than a few tensions being raised among previously solid friendships as a result of the brutal decision making.

As each couple gave their verdict on the least compatible pairs, at the conclusion of the voting, Sammy Root and Jess Harding and Mitchel Taylor and Leah Taylor were the two couples who had received the most votes each.

As a result of the decision making of their fellow Islanders, in a shocking twist, these couples were then separated, with the islanders becoming single, yet crucially as Maya warned, they would not be allowed to tactically re-couple with each other in order to stay in the competition, and instead would need to try and win over one of two stunning new bombshells who were waiting to meet them.

While the revelation was undoubtedly a shock to many fans, it wasn’t the brutal shakeup that got them talking, but rather Mitchel’s bizarre facial expressions after it was revealed he and Leah were deemed to be incompatible, something that was hardly surprising given they had both confessed to simply being in a “friendship-couple” rather than a romantic one.

“Mitchel’s facial expressions are killing me lol cos boi you know dam well you two ain’t compatible,” wrote one amused fan.

A second viewer also noticed the odd expressions and commented: “Mitchel rolling his eyes and acting confused. He’s literally in a friendship couple with Leah”

Meanwhile a third added: “Mitchel’s facial expressions are making me angry, he is so annoying.”

A fourth fan also agreed, adding: “See how gassed Mitchel was about hearing about new islanders!” After he appeared to grow more irritated after realising two new bombshells would soon be arriving.

Another fan however, was convinced that Mitchel’s frustration largely stemmed from the fact he thought the vulnerable couples would be immediately eliminated as they wrote: “The only reason Mitchel was so p****d is that he probably thought the vulnerable couples would go home, because he knows they are a friendship couple.”

Thankfully however, the vulnerable couples were thrown a lifeline and given one final chance to impress the newcomers and continue on their journey to try and win this year’s Love Island crown – and maybe even find true romance along the way.

Love Island continues Sunday to Friday at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX
