Naga Munchetty blasted for 'continuous digs' at BBC Breakfast co-star Carol Kirkwood as fans rage 'it's not funny!' | The Sun

NAGA Munchetty has been blasted by fans for "continuous digs" at BBC Breakfast co-star Carol Kirkwood.

Naga, 48, hosts the show from Thursdays to Saturdays and often links up with Carol, 60, for the weather.

The pair exchange banter from time to time, but some BBC Breakfast viewers have taken issue with Naga's comments to Carol.

On today's show, Naga and her co-host Roger Johnson were talking about carrying cash and Roger joked he only carried it, "just in case anyone tries to tap me up for a drink".

As the pair turned towards the screen to speak to Carol, Naga joked: "Carol's the one to ask for a drink aren't you Carol?"

Carol giggled, but before she could reply, Naga took issue with the picture of a cloudy sky behind her.

She said: "Morning, now look what is this behind you? Today is supposed to be the day of 27, 28 degrees sunshine and the summer we've all been waiting for for a month, what are you doing?"

Carol took Naga's comments in her stride and replied: "Well this is the start of the day, these temperatures are what you'll get in the afternoon Naga, but some of us, you're quite right though, are starting on a cloudy note."

But taking to X – formerly Twitter – one viewer raged: "@TVNaga01 @BBCBreakfast why do you continually make 'digs' to @carolkirkwood. It's not funny or intelligent".

It wasn't the only digs Naga made at Carol today, as on the subject of carrying cash, the weather lady said: "No never, I used to like you Roger but now since the pandemic I just don't, it's easier with a card."

Naga teased: "Do you know why she really doesn't carry cash?"

Roger asked: "Go on, is it because she doesn't have to buy you a coffee?"

Naga said: "Yeah, 'Oh I haven't got my purse, I've got no cash.' Yeah, alright."

But Carol hit back with a laugh: "Naga you are terrible. Especially as yesterday I did buy you a coffee. But, I did buy it with a card."

BBC Breakfast airs daily from 6am on BBC One.
