Naga Munchetty gets shut down by BBC co-star Matt Tebbutt after cheeky swipe

BBC Breakfast's Naga Munchetty got blasted on live TV by Saturday Kitchen's Matt Tebbutt after making a veiled dig at his programme.

Hosting the morning programme with Charlie Stayt, fan-favourite Naga spoke to Saturday Kitchen’s Matt Tebbutt to see what was in store for viewers.

But as always, the back and forth conversation turned a little cheeky prior to the cooking show taking over from the breakfast gang.

“Of course, Saturday Kitchen follows us at 10am this morning,” Naga notified the loyal cohort of BBC Breakfast viewers.

“I don’t know what drama is in store but Matt Tebbutt is going to tell us all about it," she added, before asking Matt how he was doing.

“Hi, how are you guys?" Matt asked, before Naga replied with: “Yeah, really well, thank you, really well."

Matt continued: “Oh, good, good. No dramas today, no dramas don’t worry about that," he assured viewers before admitting: "I mean it is live," with a chuckle.

“Oh well, make it exciting at least, eh?” Naga said jokingly to her BBC colleague.

Defending his show, Matt hit back at Naga when he snapped at her and said: “It will be exciting! It’s always exciting Naga, jeez!”

This came on the same instalment as BBC Breakfast that also saw a reporter snubbed live on air.

A news reporter was out and about doing a vox pop and asking about the political climate on Saturday morning (October 22) when he was rejected by a bystander.

The reporter could be seen on screen ending a conversation with a local man before he moved on to a woman called Janet who worked in a food truck.

But clearly a little reluctant, Janet jumped out of the way of the camera and refused to talk to the reporter – although it looked as though she might have previously agreed to.

The BBC news reporter said: "Lovely to have a chat let's speak to Janet here," before she jumped out of the way.

"Oh no Janet's gone shy, she's gone shy, so anyways that gives you a sense of how the people in Romford feel," he quickly added.
