Dan Spencer (Liam Fox) is facing a bleak future after he was charged with manslaughter in Emmerdale.

Following Lloyd’s arrival to the village, Dan ended up being arrested after he punched the stalker in a state of anger.

Lloyd fell backwards and smacked his head on a rock. He was rushed to hospital and spent weeks in a coma but while Dan was at his plea hearing this week, Lloyd died.

After being told the news, Dan was sent to the police station again and learnt that because Lloyd died from a bleed on the brain – which only happened because of the attack – his charge would now increase to manslaughter.

Devastated Dan then returned home and broke the news to Mandy (Lisa Riley) and Amelia (Daisy Campbell) that he’s going to prison and could face anything from 3-8 years behind bars.

Because Dan’s sentencing won’t be delivered for another few weeks, he still has time to embrace his life in the village – but he isn’t seeing the positives to that all of the time, as this new video reveals.

In the shop, Pollard (Chris Chittell) and Rodney (Patrick Mower) can be seen talking about Dan receiving a custodial sentence.

The characters involved have conflicting views on the situation, as Pollard argues that Dan should face a strong punishment after Lloyd’s death, while Rodney points out that he didn’t mean to kill him.

The conversation continues but it’s stopped by Jacob (Joe-Warren Plant), who realises Dan has walked into the shop.

Pollard, Rodney and Jacob are all tense when the prospect of Dan being a murderer crops up, but they don’t have time to try and apologise for gossiping as Dan ends up leaving.

Asked if this is the last we’ll see of Dan Spencer, Liam Fox said: ‘Who knows? Maybe for a bit, maybe not at all. I don’t know. There’s going to be some changes, without a shadow of a doubt, but we’ll have to wait and see won’t we?’
