Next James Bond odds slashed on favourite ahead of Henry Cavill and Tom Hardy

Aaron Taylor-Johnson details Brad Pitt fight scene in Bullet Train

Just who will be the next James Bond? A couple of years on from the premiere of No Time to Die and fans are still awaiting that official announcement.

Celebrity names like Henry Cavill and Tom Hardy have been thrown around since before Daniel Craig’s 007 swansong was confirmed as going ahead.

But now his incarnation has kicked the bucket, just who could be taking on Ian Fleming’s spy next?

The latest odds are in from Coral Bookmakers who have slashed the chances of their frontrunner doing just that.

In the last 24 hours, Aaron Taylor-Johnson has received strong support and had his odds cut from 3-1 to 2-1, presumably because of recent rumours that he’s producer Barbara Broccoli’s first choice.

The 33-year-old star of the upcoming Kraven the Hunter has been rumoured to have impressed Broccoli in a secret audition and plays it coy about those 007 rumours in interviews.

Meanwhile, the actor has worked previously with Christopher Nolan, who is in talks to direct the reboot, according to multiple reports.

Nevertheless, Taylor-Johnson has some tough competition in the bookies’ race to be the next Bond.

Just behind him on 3-1 is James Norton, followed Henry Cavill on 4-1, Regé-Jean Page on 6-1 and Tom Hardy on 7-1.

Also in the running are Paapa Essiedu on 8-1, Jack Lowden on 12-1, both Richard Madden and Callum Turner on 14-1, Aidan Turner on 16-1 and Sope Dirisu on 20-1.

Given the ongoing Hollywood actor’s strike, our best bet of the next Bond being announced will be sometime next year for a 2025 release.
