Things took an awkward turn during the latest instalment of Good Morning Britain after Kate Garraway appeared to shut down her co-host Richard Madeley.

The presenting duo were back on screens on Tuesday (August 15) discussing Ryanair's boarding pass charges and how some customers are left unaware of the added expense if not printed before they fly.

Trying to make sense of the situation, Kate attempted to read a statement from the airline to viewers at home.

But while reading, Richard tried to interject which lead Kate to shut him down.

Stopping him in his tracks, Kate, 56, said: "Can I just finish the sentence?"

Richard quickly apologised by saying "sorry", but the frosty interaction didn't go unnoticed by fans at home.

Taking to Twitter, one viewer wrote: "Kate not liking being interrupted… lolz."

Another penned: "Kate saying, 'can I finish the sentence?' Oh the irony."

While a third said: "Someone give Madeley the hook. Constantly interrupting everyone. I think Kate Garraway will let rip soon."
