Sunday night saw the return of the ITV reality show I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! As 10 stars made their way into the Australian jungle. Before even entering the camp they were thrown straight into the deep end by having to complete a trail. Although comedian Babatunde Aleshe said those infamous words as he pulled out of the first trial after trying to complete it for 45 minutes.

I’m A Celeb officially kicked off on Sunday night as viewers watched the show return to Australia after a two-year hiatus.

Before the stars had even set foot in the jungle they were being pushed to their limits as they were made to complete trails in order to gain stars for food.

One of the first tasks viewers got to see was the infamous Walk The Plank challenge where celebrities have to walk on a beam at the top of a 32-story building to the end of the platform.

Once all three stars were at the end of the platform, they had to wait 60 seconds before letting go of a rope and dropping down.

However, as the Loose Women star was the first person to walk the high plank, she had to wait until comedian Babatunde made his way across the beam before footballer Jill Scott did the same and they could all drop together.

Although viewers watched as the 30-year-old struggled with the extreme height of the plank as he spent a few minutes deliberating whether or not to continue, all while Charlene was left dangling.

In the end, he couldn’t get himself to complete the trial as he told Ant and Dec: “I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here.”

Discussing the first trial on Monday morning’s Good Morning Britain, host Susanna Reid expressed that she would be frustrated with the star if she were made to wait that long like Charlene.

Entertainment reporter Vick Hope said: “He left poor Charlene standing mid-air for three-quarters of an hour, she was just there!”

As Susanna and her co-host Ed Balls gasped in shock at the long wait, the GMB host applauded the ITV star for waiting.

She said: “You know what, she was very gracious if that’s the case!

“I think that I would be a little bit frustrated if someone was making me wait longer than normal in such a terrifying position”.

Vick commented that the situation of Charlene waiting for long was all in Babtunde’s hands before highlighting how fearful viewers could tell he was.

She added: “You could just tell that he knew where his limit was and he had reached it.

“You could see the way that he was talking to himself in his head just saying, ‘I cannot do this.”

Once Babatunde decided not to go ahead with the trail, it was Jill’s time to walk the plank as she quickly made her way to get to the end of the platform.

After their 60 seconds were up, the two women then let go of the rope they dropped down the side of the building cheering in accomplishment.

Speaking to Ant and Dec when they returned, Charlene was in awe at herself for managing to complete the trail.

Alongside Jill, Babatunde and Charlene, viewers also watched seven other stars endure other challenges.

These included Mike Tindall, Chris Moyles, Boy George, Olivia Attwood, Sue Cleaver, Owen Warner and Scarlette Douglas

I’m A Celebrity continues weekdays on ITV at 9pm.
