Taylor Armstrong makes housewives history as she joins Orange County cast

Taylor Armstrong is officially leaving the Beverly Hills memes behind as she has signed up for Real Housewives of Orange County.

The 51-year-old first hit our screens as an original member of the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, all the way back in season one, in 2010, alongside Lisa Vanderpump, Kyle Richards and Camille Grammar.

Three seasons, one inescapable shouting cat meme and a lot of heartbreak later, she gave up her diamond and officially left the show as a full-time housewife, but still filmed some scenes as a ‘friend of’.

That is about to change as she has signed up for RHOC after making the move to Orange County from Beverly Hills, making Housewives history as the first cast member to switch franchises.

Pal and new co-star Tamra Judge – who is picking up her orange once more – confirmed the news on Twitter, telling fans: ‘Not only am I returning to #RHOC for season 17 but my girl @TaylorArmstrong is joining me along for the ride.

‘Double the trouble coming your way.’

Retweeting the message, Taylor added: ‘Here we gooooo!!!!’

We absolutely cannot wait.

Their fellow cast members are said to be ‘excited’ to have the OG added to their cast to freshen things up.

‘We’re all excited that Taylor will be filming with us,’ an insider on the cast claimed.

‘While Taylor hasn’t been given a permanent cast position yet, she will be showcasing her life with the ladies of Orange County.’

‘She did so well on the Ultimate Girls Trip that it makes sense for her to join Tamra [Judge] on OC,’ they added to DailyMail.com.

‘Her life is thriving now, she is a different woman to the one we saw on the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.’

Taylor had a tough time while filming in Beverly Hills, with much of her first few seasons focusing on her violent relationship to husband Russell Armstrong, some of which was captured by cameras.

She filed for divorce in 2011, and citied physical and verbal abuse – Russell later died by suicide after reports of their split emerged.

Following his death, she became a vocal advocate for domestic abuse survivors, and has since remarried, walking down the aisle with attorney John Bluhe.

It is not clear whether he will be featured in the upcoming episodes, or who else will be joining Taylor and Tamra in the cast.

Real Housewives of Orange County airs on Bravo and is available to stream on hayu in the UK.
