The Chases Paul Sinha has the last laugh after Dan Walker makes cheeky remark

Ex-BBC Breakfast star Dan Walker playfully took aim at Paul Sinha during the celebrity edition of The Chase, but it was the professional quizzer who came out on top.

The presenter, 46, appeared on the hit ITV show alongside Scottish politician Ruth Davison, musician Mark King and former TOWIE star Ferne McCann as they attempted to win a cash prize for charity.

Before standing in front of The Sinnerman, Dan made a cheeky comment as the chaser attempted to convince Mark to take the higher offer.

After the 64-year-old earned £4,000 in the cash-builder round, he was given the option to stick with it or go low with £1,000 or high with £60,000.

As show host Bradley Walsh turned to the panel for their advice, he asked: " Dan, what do you say?"

"Don't get sucked in by the man in the white tuxedo," the Channel 5 star cheekily responded.

Seeing the funny side of the remark, Paul, 52, smirked as the camera panned to him.

Dan didn't stop there however as he added: "Your jacket's much better, go four grand."

But the newsreader's mood quickly changed when it was his turn to face the chaser.

After Dan raised a very respectable £8,000 in his cash-builder round, Paul made jaws drop when he offered the star an opportunity to win £104,000.

Full of confidence, the 5 News host jumped at the opportunity.

Things didn't get off to the best start as for his second question, Dan was asked which Marvel film won an Oscar for best picture in 2019.

After choosing Avengers: Infinity War, it didn't take long before Dan to realise his error as he told Bradley: "I was meant to click Black Panther" – which turned out to be the correct answer.

He was left disappointed however when Paul caught him on his last question, meaning he was the only member from him team who was booted from the competition before the final chase.

Remaining celebs Ruth, Mark and Ferne managed to win £12,000 for their chosen charities with just seconds remaining.
