This Morning star had no apparent health problems prior to shock death says friend

A close friend of the late Dr Uchenna Okoye, who is known for appearing on This Morning, has said that the Dr had no "apparent health issues" before she collapsed and died last week.

The 53 year old passed away on Friday September 15, and her family and friends are now waiting on a coroner's report to tell them what happened to her.

In the week leading up to her death, Uchenna had been enjoying a busy week, her personal assistant Mars Webb confirmed.

She had been at the theatre to watch the West End musical Moulin Rouge, and meeting with clients to promote her new Mysmile dental product.

However, during that time, Mars has said that she didn't raise any concerns about her health.

Speaking to the Daily Mail, Mars explained: "There are no suspicious circumstances surrounding her death. She was a happy, healthy and busy person, with no apparent health problems."

She added that her death came "out of the blue" and has been a total shock to everyone who knew the Dr.

Mars then added: "We are now waiting for the coroner's reports into her death to find out exactly what happened."

She finished off by saying that it is a "devastating" loss for Uchenna's friends and family.

Uchenna's death was announced in a statement published on her Instagram account by her family last week.

They wrote: "We are heartbroken to announce that Dr Uchenna Okoye sadly passed away after a sudden illness on Friday 15th September 2023.

"We know many of you will be devastated and shocked to see this post. We ask for your prayers and some privacy at this difficult time. We will be in touch in the coming days."

The heartbreaking post prompted a wave of tributes to 10 Years Younger in 10 Days star Uchenna.

Her This Morning co-star Holly Willoughby shared the post to her Instagram story and wrote: "Unbelievably sad to hear of the passing of @druchennaokoye.

"We first worked together many moons ago with @oralb_uk, and she was very kind to me… and then of course again, giving her advice on @thismorning. Sending all my love to her family."

Fellow TV presenter Donna Air also said: "What ?! No, I’m so confused. How, why .. her daughter!! Shocked and saddened."

It wasn't just her co-stars who wanted to pay their respects, as many of her fans also commented on the post.

One commented: "Our wonderful Uchenna – it’s so sad. Vibrancy, kindness, generosity and love were in her soul, and those of us who knew her adored her and her beautiful daughter. Condolences to Uchenna’s loving family."
