This Morning’s Andi Peters stuns Rochelle Humes with quip about The Saturdays

This Morning presenter Andi Peters cheekily left his co-host Rochelle Humes open-mouthed today (August 19) after having a dig at her former band, The Saturdays.

His jibe came just as the pair wrapped up a segment involving a studio performance from the cast of new West End musical, Six which reimagines the story of Henry VIII's six wives and featured a contemporary performance which had a distinctly girl-group vibe to it.

Rochelle, 33, applauded the performance and gushed to the camera: "Oh my gosh, I want to be in this band." To which Andi, unable to resist temptation to make a cheeky jibe, cupped his hand as though pretending Rochelle couldn't see and said to the camera: "Cos they're better than the last one."

He grinned naughtily while Rochelle gasped and gave him a playful shove.

Rochelle clapped back quickly: "How dare you. Divorced!"

And after a swift ad break, Rochelle joked that Andi had nearly suffered the same fate as one of Henry's royal wives as her co-star then declared his love for The Saturdays.

Rochelle spent seven years as part of the girl group, touring the world alongside bandmates: Frankie Bridge, Una Healy, Mollie King, and Vanessa White.

Some of their highest charting songs include: If This Is Love, Just Can't Get Enough and Forever Is Over but after selling more than 5 million records, the group went on hiatus in 2014. Its members have since gone on to launch successful presenting and reality TV careers.

Rochelle has previously ruled out a Saturdays reunion saying her priorities have changed since having her children Alaia-Mai, eight, Valentina, four, and son Blake, 13 months, with her husband JLS singer Marvin Humes, 36.

The TV star told The Sun in 2021: "Everything has to fit around them. Even thinking about the band reunion, it wouldn't work for my life now as my priorities are them."

She added she doesn't work weekends anymore as "they are for my kids," adding: "For half-term, I took two weeks off and everybody still tried to call me, but I was like: 'No, I'm not working.' I'm not on my phone and I'm really present for them."
