Tim confronts Stephen after he tries to kill Elaine in Corrie

Tim Metcalfe (Joe Duttine) is in danger of discovering the truth about Stephen Reid (Todd Boyce) in Coronation Street as his mum, Elaine Jones (Paula Wilcox) ends up in serious danger as a result of the evil businessman.

Ever since Stephen and Elaine got together, Tim has been convinced that Stephen was only in the relationship for his mum’s money.

This is completely true, but a vulnerable Elaine has been manipulated by Stephen and has continuously told her son that Stephen is a good man and definitely not like his dad, Geoff.

While Elaine believes Stephen’s lies, he ends up at another desperate and dead end next week when Owen (Ben Hull) – the person buying Carla’s (Alison King) shares of the factory – tells Stephen that once he takes over, he will be fired.

His determination to get his hands on as much money as possible increasing by the day, Stephen starts drugging Elaine with caffeine pills, making her jittery and exhausted.

Popping out for some ‘food’, Stephen is gone long enough that when he returns, he finds Elaine on the floor after falling and hitting her head.

After quietly backing out of the flat, Stephen is then confronted by Tim, who demands details about what happened to Elaine.

So, what has happened to her?

‘Tim is an enormous risk, he sees who Stephen is and Stephen knows that he can’t pull the wool over eyes forever. He is really bad news for Stephen’, Todd Boyce told us.

‘It is very sad that he [Stephen] is putting her [Elaine] through what she went through with Geoff, that he is using her previous abusive relationship to gaslight her and use her. He uses people’s weakness and capitalises on that.’
